Hi there,

I'm thinking of ordering a MIDnite but the music quality is important for me.
I now use a nationite OS-43 :D witch is very good for music.

Has anyone have experience with the music quality on the MIDnite, please let me know what you think about it!
Thanks,

10i

There is so much that involves good sound quality.

Here is some of my observations:
1. With the right APK you can stream music from your UpnP-server which is a GREAT plus for me.
2. You cannot connect Alphas (and probably not M1/M2/M3's either) to it. Beacuse the audio jack is set deep into the side. You then need a converter or special audio cable between headphones and MIDnite, which will lower sound quality.
3. I have connected it to my usual stereo speakers with subwoofer, and it sounds just as good as when I use my computer (maybe even a bit better ie. lower SNR).

So it is really quite difficult to say if you will be satisfied with the audio quality.

All I know is I like it, when using my normal speakers that I am "used to", and beacuse of all the "features" it offers with APK's.

On the other hand I did not like the sound of the Alphas that came with it, which everyone else seem to like, so... :) Well I hope you get my drift

Hi sourcery,

Thanks for your reply.
I understand that its very difficult to determine if I like the soundquality of the MIDnite.
What's important for me is that there is no strange hum or noise when playing music and that the used opamp is capable of giving a good signal to the headphone.
I won't use the Alphas (there nice but sound not very open) ,but Soundmagic and a very good Sony headphone.

10i.

It has a cirrus logic dac, the sound isn't bad, there isn't any hum or hiss, but your music play experiencing may depend on the app use as there are good music apps for Android and then there are the not so good ones.

The speakers are passable at best, IMO. But I use some basic Creative headphones with the RockPlayer app that was already installed (accessing music I had copied onto a micro SD card) and I thought the quality was actually pretty good.

DoubleTwist on Android is amazing. I was playing with it yesterday on my friends phone. If you can get that on the MIDnite then you should try using it for music playback.
