Raz: Any chance of getting wifi, a web browser, and a 3.5" screen on that bad boy? Simple PDA functions/ synch with Outlook would be nice too......

As I'm pretty sure this was to poke fun at my comment above, Good One!

Although my mod ideas wouldn't change any of the electronic hardware on the device itself, just replace the buttons and build a new chassis. I'm not saying it would be easy, but it is possible. The reason I thought of this in the first place is because I plan on using the QT1106 chip,

http://www.qprox.com/products/Page-16067/qt1106.html

for one of my own projects. The only problem the only package style it comes in is a 32-pin QFN, which is 5x5mm surface-mount and all the pins are on the bottom of the package  I just received a few free sample chips (MAXIM 6972A and 1584E) in the same package to practice soldering the chip.

I won't post about this anymore because it is more appropriate for the modding section, and I'm not going to try it unless I somehow get my hands on a second player or the case on this one busts.

Raz,
I just run into this:

http://www.pmptoday.com/2007/10/03/ramo ... /#comments

it is quite neat and for runners or people that need something tiny without video capabilities is perfect. Will you carry it? Even better... will you have the same player under mp4nation rebrand?

that player has been out for sometime, i've been looking at that player to add to our revamped MP3 line which i will have out in the next week or so.

I don't know if its click wheel or push button.

Raz,

I think I mentioned this in another post but if you are looking to build your own OEM then take some time to really identify what your customers want. This could take some time and analysis on your part. I look at GM for example as they are now building vehicles based on what people need and want versus what their "silo'ed" perception might be.

My recommendation as a performance consultant by trade would be to look at the performance is (current state) as compared to what the performance should be.

This might be something you could place on your blog and have people check things off via radio. Let me know if you need some help setting up your research if you decide to go down this path.
