Hello everybody! New & proud owner of an Ainol V6000HDM :D
I'm loving my new toy (the screen is awesome  ) but for the life of me I can't seem to make the fm transmitter function work! To further complicate things, the manual is in Chinese only. Anyone has a couple of minutes to walk me through the menu and explain how to operate that function?

Also, I've noticed the firmware is v1.0. I can't find any new firmware on the Ainol website, so is it safe to assume there's nothing newer and/or better?

Thanks in advance for your time!

hi
seems this is athe cc1600 chip player so the FM transmitter is in the radio menu
have you already seen this andd set it - you need to use headphones as an arial

as this is a cc1600 player (older and now discontinued by Ainol) then you will be up to date as updates for cc1600 players stopped coming (sorry) -Ainol started making players with the cc1600 processor but stopped almost as fast as they started and swapped to a different chip for all their player - and yes you are roight, no updtaes on their site

do you have the EQ options in the music player - if so that is the latest and last

Thanks, Maderin. Sorry to hear there won't be any more firmwares, as it's always an added bonus getting to try and play with updated things, but nevertheless, I'm a happy camper. On the Radio submenu I see an option, RF-SET, which I understood was the fm transmitter options. I chose a free frequency, set it as on, but couldn't hear anything through my radio. I didn't have the headphones plugged in, so maybe that's the reason, now you mentioned the headphones act as an antenna...

And no, I have no EQ options on the music player. Will a firmware for another V6000 work with mine?

Thanks!

no, another v6000 wont work, if you do not have the EQ settings on youurs player then Ainol have not released an update that they should have as all cc1600 player from any company got the updates (i have an OS72HR nationite - cc1600 player) and it seems Ainol were really quick on leaving their cc1600 player behind (very bad from them)

yes RF-SET is the transmitter so plug in the phones and try again, sometimes you need to mess and get the best freq

Yes, very bad from them indeed then, if that's the case. :?

I'll try them again tomorrow, with the headphones on, and see if I can get some reception in my car's stereo on the way to work.

Thank you very much for your time and attention, Maderin.

For movies, mainly; I've been using a PSP to watch videos during lunch breaks at work, and I'm still pleased with the image quality and battery life I get, but then again I feel it is a bit of a waste to use it just for videos and not play games any more. So I bought the Ainol and will be passing the PSP along to my son, who will surely play with it and use it much more than I do now  I think I've made an excellent buy, I'm amazed at the image quality, even more so taking into account the price :D And if I can use it to listen to some mp3s on the car's stereo while going to work, well, much better yet.

Actually most of the of the producers of protable player had broke up with HXF(CC1600's producer) because of many problems.
CC has been out and 6000HDS/8000HDG will be a better choice, but since you have bought HDM,so these are not important.
If you want 3D-EQ and more exxiting functions, just try the 'Freedom' Firmware for HDM,try download at www.uushare.com/user/silo1
If you have any problems on using this firmware, pls post or feedback to me by mail:r4ds@vip.qq.com

SNT - what problems are there with CC?? and does this mean that players using the CC1600 are now not supported at all!!! - seems Gemei are still with CC and using the newer cc1800?? are they to carry on with them

and thanks for the firmware, just incase the user does not like it do you have the original HDM should they wish to revert back

thanks SNT for the info

Thanks, SNT! I second Maderin's question: if I try this Freedom firmware, and don't like it, or it doesn't work properly, how can I go back to the stock firmware? I can't find any on Ainol's website...

Other than that, what other exciting funtions does Freedom have? And what should I do to upgrade?
