like Maderin1 said, the new hardware wizard is a good thing, show the wizard where the driver file is in the recovery tool folder and continue from there

exactly, choose to install the driver manually and browse to the folder where the INF file is located.

see this guide onm how to install the drivers for rockchip players when the add hardware wizard pops up

viewtopic.php?f=43&t=8488

you will need to follow from step 4 onwards to install the drivers

once you have this done the the update tools will see and be able to format the player and install the firmware

Well, what I was trying to do was change themes to the AruaBlu theme. The thing was that I didn't know it was designed by the Teclast firmware and not the Nationite firmware. So what happened was that it endlessly looped the start-up screen never allowing me to access the partition. Now it looks as though everything is working fine, and I will try again shortly to upgrade the theme.

The Teclast and Nationite firmware are interchangeable so there should be no issue due to that.

Good to know Raz. Would you fancy a guess why the attempted upgrade would have made the player endlessly loop? I tend to think I tried to upgrade it incorrectly -- i.e., I think I copied the BIN file to the player incorrectly.

Raz - I also haven't been able to copy the rckusb.tag file to the root of the player and have it show the hidden partition. Is this due to my repairing the player? Would you know how I might be able to see the hidden partition? Thanks for any help.
