anyone have any idea what chip this thing is going to use, i have now heard its a totally new chipset, possible one that Ainol has bought the specs for and producing themselves

From what i have read about this player, it uses a Chinachip CC1600.

When you plug in usb the unit turns on but shows usb icon onscreen so you can't access functions. Not sure if it's charging though but i would think so.

You can only play music/videos while charging with the supplied wall charger.

Just curious.

Besides the fact that V3000HD has the High Definition function, what other differences does it have against the non HD V3000???

this player will be able to play video that the 3000 cant, so it can handle more higher reolutions but conversion may still be necessary, not sure what else it holds really but if you were considering the 3000 than you may as well wait and get this or if its just video yo want what about the jxd980

Never had a JXD, but can tell that the sound quality's good on the V3000HD; deep bass but treble a bit high.

The music UI is simple, as is the UI in general, i think it supports album art but not tested yet. There are a couple bugs playing music; the shuffle function doesn't er shuffle  and there's a spelling mistake-unknown album = unkown album

Also the built in speakers are a little too quiet so would stick with headphones

Only sorts songs alphabetically as far as i can figure. And a basic search function.

No EQ or sorting by artist/album.
