you will need to check out what chips are on the board.

however, you more than likely would use the firmware that vx858 posted a few days ago, viewtopic.php?t=506

i had the same startup and shut down screens and i took a chance on that firmware and it worked perfectly for me.

It wasn't a few days ago that I posted that, I made that 19 days ago!

I strongly recommend my edited OEM VX858 firmware if you want the ONDA startup and shutdown logos, instead of the ugly "Mini MP4 Player" and "Bye Bye" startup and shutdown images of the standard OEM VX858 firmware.

none that are listed on our site as that player has a camera, so it will have a totally different firmware.

The manufacturer of the OEM VX858 also makes a model with a camera.

It would use a different firmware to support the camera function.

Try getting one without the camera.

The new OEM Onda clone still uses the OEM firmware right?

The OEM VX858 still uses the OEM VX858 firmware that Raz (the admin) posted.

This works a treat by the way. No issues getting it in and those hideous Comic Sans (why would ANYONE want to use this awful font?!) startup & shutdown screens are gone.

VX858 - nice one :D
