I'm experiencing some troubles with my new JXD301.
It may depends on the fact that I'm using the old win98se OS, but I can't be sure about this. Still highly probable though...
(I knew something was going to happens.. bleh.. it was.. nope, correction: IT IS a too nice toy to works flowlessly. >:/ )
The bigger problem is that I can't access the firmware folder for update.
When I switch to firmware mode (holding right & on buttons togheter) and then I plug the usb cable, the system freezes for a couple of minutes and then shows me the evil Black Screen Of Death (I know B is for Blue but in my system that screen is now black. I changed it beause I hate that suddenly full-screen blue. : P) saying me that an error is occurred and that I must hit a button to go on.
I press a button to get back to the system, but at that point something is messed up: the systems seems to keep working fine, but it's impossible to connect the JXD again, in any way. I have to reboot PHISICALLY (pressing reset button on the case) because the software reboot crashes and freezes the PC.
By the way, as I was saying in another thread, the way I can access the player is different from the way I access my USB flash pen.
I got forced to install the provided drivers (the ones on the mini CD) since the one I use to recognize my 1gb dicom flash pen doesn't recognize the player.
Once installed said drivers the JXD is seen by the system as some kind of removable mass storage device (yes, I know that also an USB pen is a mass storage device, but it seems to be recognized by the OS like a different kind of thing, for unknown reasons! I cannot umount it before to unplug it, there's only an Eject entry on the context menu, but I must avoid to click it.. guess why?.. yup, it crashes anything. >: / )
Also another thing that I noticed (but I'm not sure if it's only related to my win98 system) is that I cannot access via PC the examples files that was preinstalled. I can only delete them using the player delete feature. (Well, I didn't made an attempt yet, but I really hope it works! Duh!)
So I can access the disk, but not the side to upgrade the firmware. :'/
Woohoo!! 400 posts! a last effort to become supersayan! ( `_´)/
btw, JXD301 and onda787 owner (so far..).
tired to pray players' God for homebrew to be. sigh. ¦ /
