I upgraded my smart q 5 II to the updated firmware and now my player is stuck at the Loading screen and won't boot up to the menu options.

1. Before I updated I deleted the system folder (I thought that was what the upgrade instructions suggested)
2. I dowloaded and unzipped the new firmware onto my SD card
3. When I powered on the player with the new firmware I get a loading screen and nothing else.

I don't think I bricked the player, but are there any options on how to fix this?

Did I upgrade the firmware incorrectly?

As far as I know you updated correctly. I updated to firmware 1.1.2 a while ago and it boots up fine. I do have a problem that quite often the player can't find any music or videos anymore. While playing a music of video file it suddenly stops and cycles through all the music or video files whithout playing them. Maybe the firmware is a little buggy?

As for your problem, what if you delete all the files in the system folder on your SD card, except for the T5Gen2.bin and the GBA, NEO, NES and SNES gpkg files and then try to boot up again? Or else try to format the whole SD card and copy the firmware again. Before that, maybe holding the reset button makes a difference?

One of the strong points of this player is that you can update the firmware with very little risk because the firmware seems to be always on the SD card. Youre not really changing the bios.
