Personally I do not like the OPTIMUS player UI's at all. IMO the rockchip ui is extreamly plain and boring.

The best on your list the is ONDA VX878, the 858 still has bugs that need to be worked out.

But what are you going to be mostly using this player for? Music, video, games?

If video is the answer, i'd go with a HACHA PA20 or the ONDA VX787

If music then go with any meizu player. they are known for their superb audio quality and well crafted ui's.

But if your looking for a player that has a little of both and is not terribly expensive, for the a oppo v9 or a hacha pc20.

The teclast player you have in your list is ok..... but its UI is still lacking. I would stay away from teclast and optimus players if this is going to be your first MP4 player.

WHAT BUGS PEOPLE?!?!?! I keep seeing that the 858 has bugs, and I can't see what anyone is talking about. I have been using an ONDA VX858 with the official firmware 16 and have had 0 issues. The ONLY complaint I have is that it is a little slow to respond and I believe that has more to do with the limitations of the touchscreen.

I really believe that one person stated incorrectly that the 858 had bugs, and everyone now thinks it does. My Onda actually is more stable and has fewer (if any) bugs than my Meizu and it has only been around for 4 months!

I am with Paul on the whole bugs thing. I have both the VX858 and the 878. Definitely the 878 is more buggy. The 858 doesn't have bugs AFAIK it just isn't quite as responsive to touch as some might like. Honestly I don't even notice the touch sensitivity as I got used to how it works. The PA20 is better overall but for more money. I just put a review of the pa20 in the hacha section if anyone is interested...

For music you can't beat a meizu unless you are willing to shell out several hundreds on a high end japanese model like kenwood....

Do you think in practice the G-Sensor is gonna be useful???? Don't think so, imo ;-) You might use it a bit at the beginning and then you'll forget about it...

hacha pc20 is definitely stylish... but i don't like the button on the top... much better the idea of the oppo v5 (with touch sensitive buttons).
In both cases the thing that is bothering me more is the firmware (when you start to have 2GB of music you might want to have a nice way to navigate through it as in the meizu m6)...

Well, you'll never use it for UI navigation, but the two games it works with are great. I play the fighter plane game with the G-sensor as a joystick. Admittedly, it's a very limited use for such a prominent feature, but hey--it is fun. If only it worked with more games, it would be well worth it.

I don't think there's really a good use for a g-sensor like that other than for playing games.

I wish it had a first person view game of some sort on it, like a racing game or a shooting game from the view in the cockpit. It would work great. Are there ever going to be more than five rockchip games out?
