Actually, I don't have a problem w/ larger phones now that I'm used to them. I used to have little flip phones in the past like the Motorola V360. But since then I've moved on to Blackberrys and Samsung Galaxy Android phones. I always carry my phone in my front shirt pocket or jacket pocket. I rarely put them in my pants pocket. Also I prefer to use my bluetooth headset if I'm on a long call anyway.

I look at large screen phones ( for me anything bigger than 4" ) as being useful for for their higher resolution screens. Devices like this are best for users who want to use their smartphones as MP4s or web browsers on the go. I don't really look as convenience as the same as a smaller phone. Smaller phones are convenient to carry in your pants pocket and only make calls. A 5.8" screen is convenient to watch movies or play games while still having phone capabilities. TBH 5" and 7" were my favorite sizes for MP4 players in the past, so this Cubot smartphone fits right in the middle.

I'm looking at one of the screen prints from the MP4Nation site for the Cubot A6589S. It shows RAM size as 496.6 available and 971.7 total in MBs. I forgot what my score was on my Corepad 7, but it's low. That tablet is older and slower, but I use it on a regular basis.

apologies Tory, i was getting mixed up with the C7 that Hastingz was asking about, i forgot you were after one of the bigger ones

as for size, well i think 4", or 4.2 with a compact shell are just about right, im "hopefully" just going to grab a 2nd hand Huawei G300, same as my daughters as its a nice, well featured phone, though i was going to look at a mediatek dual core LTE phone but cant afford to take chances, ill stick to what i know works and is cheap but not crap

good luck with the phone, if you get one then drop an old fashioned mp4nation review, you never know, someone may return and read it :)

I don't really know how well these phones perform, but the MTK quad core processor being used on them are meant to be pretty good and performs rather well.

I also prefer larger screen phones now, i used to think the 3.5" screen on my Nexus was huge, now holding it after using the S3 it just seems too small. I don't want to get the Note II, that screen just looks huge, but the new S4 is tempting to me.....just got to find a reason to trade up to it.

as for the MTK quad, the worry i had was heat and battery, surely thats going to be a power beast

Oh, my bad. I meant to say S2. I've got the Galaxy S2, but the S3 and S4 are awesome phones too.

Heat? Do these chips really heat up, never felt my nexus or S3 heat up under use, only during charging.

they should, but i read something about these quads specifically, plus i suppose it depends on how the design manage and dissipates the heat, you need to play and see if they do or not
