Just saw this thread....actually,I've not been on here(or anywhere else for that matter)in quite awhile. I've had some serious changes to my routine as of late, not the least of which is that I just got through selling off both of my retail business's and i finally RETIRED....sort of,lol.
I'm still teaching computer sciences at a local SUNY college, something I've been doing part time for around 10 years now. My first love was teaching, and I've always incorporated it into my computer business, teaching networking courses as well as beginning classes for newbies for free. I'm actually getting bored already...I'm a worker at my core, been working non stop for over 35 plus years---not used to being idle. I'm sure I'll find something to occupy my time, though ;)
On a personal note, my mom was diagnosed with cancer a few months back, and I'm helping out wherever I can. Shes a tough old broad and shes doing fine, though, thankfully.I'll try and hang here as much as I can,I still love tech and will always try and add my 2 cents into any conversation that interests me...you ain't gettin' rid of me anytime soon ;)

damn this new forum - sorry D2K missed your reply as this forum is not as efficient in keeping a log of missed posts so its so easy to miss posts

anyway, sorry to hear about your mum, not a nice thing to find out or to live with from anyone perspective - best wishes to all of you

as for life changes, what prompted the selling of the stores? bored, wanting to travel, bored of tech??

you now need some more hobbies, id offer mountain biking from personal experience but im not sure what options you have living in NY as you do, but, its seriously fun so get riding ;)

anyway, all the best and again, best wishes and thoughts to all the family and sorry i missed the post

Thanks mad :-) Selling my store's was long overdue, I wanted to do so for a few years now. I made quite a bit of money over the years, just thought it was time for a change. Teaching is very fulfilling and keeps me out of trouble ;-) I was into weight training for many years but a motorcycle accident caused me stop a few years ago. Looking forward to starting up again soon :-)

I'm mostly over at forums.watchuseek.com in the "Affordables" and "Chinese Mechanicals" forum. I started writing and reviewing for Headfonia.com so I'm in the Q&A there a lot as well. I moderate the Headfonia Facebook too. I still frequent Head-Fi.org but not nearly as much as I used to. And here ofcourse! :)

Hahaha yeah! It's crazy the amount of specialized forums available. Just recently I had a hilarious epiphany when I realized when my girlfriend uses the internet she spends her time on HAIR forums. Like, totally specialized forums about hair products and techniques and whatnot. Hair-Fi. :D
