Hi,

I have red some threads about problems with WiFi connection by Ainol Novo7. I have a little bit other problem with this connection.

My wife give me as a present maybe newer model of tablet Ainol (Ainol Novo7 II Advanced) which contains Android 4.0.3. with Baseband version 1.0 and Kernel version 3.0.8. I'm connecting to WiFi network with WEP protection. The password is accepted, but tablet still shows message Obtaining IP address and didn't connect at all. Don't you heard about this or don't you handle anytime with this problem ???

Thank you

Well just to rule out its not a issue with the router or hardware with the tablet you should remove any security for your router briefly and see if the tablet will connect. If it does then you should double check your router settings. Check also the date on your tablet, if the date isn't correct then this can affect your tablet connecting with your router.

At home, where I'm using WPA2 protection WiFi works fine. Problem is, that the router with WEP is at work and I can't manipulate with its settings. So bad for me.

Its most probably the router settings at work that the tablet is not playing well with.

go to wifi in the settings and try enabling all the bands if it is available in the rom (it's a hidden option under advanced). if that doesn't work look for wifix in the market. you also might want to check slatedroid for fixes on this tablet.

I didn't even know there was a choice on Android to choose all bands. Is that on all android devices or just on the Adv2?

Most android devices have that feature. some let you chose frequencies (5ghz or 2.4ghz), and some let you choose the channels (1-13).

Hi Brainy,

I can't find it. In the WiFi / Advanced menu I have only MAC and IP adresses (non editable) and Network notification and Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep. I tried to press menu button etc., but I didn't find anything more. Then I was looking in the More menu and there I find only Airplane mode, Ethernet, VPN and Mobile networks.

Am I seeking in the right menu ???

Thank you

hmm... guess it isn't in your current rom.
Probably a authentication issue between the tablet and the router. I would try a different authentication type.
