Hi folks,

I got a broken Ainol V1000, which only shows the "starting... please wait" screen and is then shutting down again after about 5 seconds. In my humble opinion just the firmware is broken.

- WHERE can I find the firmware for this great player and
- HOW can I install it on it?

Google didn't know my answers till now...
And by the way: no, I don't know the Chinese language... ;-)

Thank you very much for helping me with this and best regards
Simon

wow - a real antique you have there - it may be very hard to find the firmware now for this, im sure it will be somewhere just not easy to find

are you sure its charging properly, sounds like possibly out of power??
what happens when connecting to the PC, does it connect OK
if it connects to the P try removing all the files as shutdowns can be caused by corrupt files
its an old player and could just be worn out

Hey fellow,

Thanks VERY MUCH for the link. Well, it was broken, but thanks to knowing the name of the Firmwarefile i could google it and found it on a chinese page. With some luck and guessing I could put the new firmware on the V1000 and hey - it works!!! :) :) :)

For all of them out there who may have the same problem: Here's the working link: http://www.ainol.com/rar/ainolv1000070750.rar

Thanks again and all my best wishes
Simon

Oh, well, sorry, today it also works on my pc...

And yeah, it's an old one. ;) Someone in my company trashed it because of the boot-up-failure. After resoldering some cold solder bumps and the whole firmware upgrade story it was booting up, but then a disc error came up as well. Reformatted the internal memory with the result that nothing was working anymore. :(

But after carefully formatting BOTH areas of the internal flash (firmware area and data area) and changing some formatting options, making a full memory write/read test and so on it's finally working fine again.

Well, ok, tried a .nes and a .gba file on it, they aren't working well (no reaction to button presses with the .nes file, REALLY slow screen update rate (about 1fps) with the .gba game... But this won't be my favorite functionality, so doesn't really matter.

Thanks again to you maderin1 and best regards
Simon
