blimey - long time no see dude and no, MP3 players are all but gone - well they are gone from the store, not sure if he has any on the Amazon stores though .. checked and .. no

TBH basic MP3 players should be cheap enough from your local stores nowadays, but they are on the slow down as the PMP and, of course, the Smartphone has taken over music playing duties for many peple now

is it specifically a small MP3 player only of something more - the stock answer here nowadays, and its a good one, is to look at the sansa clip+ as its cheap, popular and very good player

yep, long time!

I've lurked a lot but not logged on

My Nationite is still working well but it does not support new formats.
I converted all my CD's to the best MP3 format to play on my Marantz NA7004 but cannot play them on my Nationite.

The SanDisk Sansa is indeed the one I've looked at here in The Netherlands so I'll guess thats the one I will buy.

What earphone is the one to have nowadays?

Raz, what do you recommend when my OS-43 dies? All I want is something to play mainly music while using it only occasionally to view videos and photos. I want something at about the same screen size as the OS-43 with the same pocketability. I want something with long battery life and many of the other features found in the OS-43. I would love TV- and FM- out and external speakers. So far it appears I may have to go with a cell phone. Will such a cell phone function as an MP4 player if I don't activate it as a cellphone. I would rather not use such a device as a cellphone for fear of running down the battery and not being able to use it should I need to do so. I have a Tracfone which I use only to make calls. I never have it turned on to receive calls and I don'teven use 100 minutes/year.
