Really, i've had my unit from the first batch pretty much, maybe they removed it with newer batches.

Maybe you can use some thin screw driver to pry the gain button out, it may pop out and release the board from the case.

definitely no screw - well i did get it out and its sat here now, all naked as the say it was soldered and its working fine - very odd - there definitely was a breaking of the left channel and when wiggling the plug/socket before its was most definitely there, but now, now its out of the case its all happy and working and i cant get it to break - makes me think there may have been so shorting problem with the metal casing?? - ill put it back together again and see if its still happy

Maybe one of the leads on the 3.5 jack would get pushed up or down when the plug moved causing a short. Does the cutting happen again when its back in the case?

Once again, just to be sure: are you really currently selling the 3rd batch (gold plated jack)? If true, ordering right now :) Thank you!

FiiO should be producing the new version at the moment. I was asking to make myself sure that you have the new version in stock. I guess that is correct :) Thank you!

Thats the good thing about companies that don't do huge production runs, its easy to make changes fast and fix issues like FiiO had with the E10.
