Ok, there maybe the illusive N3 happening in the next month. I am thinking of doing it as i do want to have some sort of player still around, so we may just end up offering the player at a not so expensive price :)

That would allow taking advantage of
  • Built-in touch-screen that's fairly decent[/*:m:2nth6129]
  • Ability to heavily customize the UI[/*:m:2nth6129]
  • Ability to add extra applications[/*:m:2nth6129]
  • Access to a number of music player applications that are undergoing active development. For instance, see https://market.android.com/search?q=music+player&so=1&c=apps for a list of options at the Android Marketplace.[/*:m:2nth6129]
  • Ability to integrate together music on "onboard storage" along with music on SD card (or similar)[/*:m:2nth6129]

Yeah, I would love to see a chinese company like Teclast try to put out a Android version of a DAP. I saw a Philips Connect 8GB at Best Buy the other day and I wasn't too impressed. My Cube H880FHDR was a good size with a 3.6" screen. I'd like to see them try working with a smaller screen like that but still with 480x800 resolution in portrait orientation. I kind of prefer portrait for a music oriented device.

To be honest, what might be a 2nd best solution is for mp4nation to work on external DAC + Android device by USB OTG. This is something that we do have a major need of... (crossing fingers and hope that Fiio E17 can actually play nice with my Galaxy2)

I wouldn't be surprised if FiiO already has something like that in the work, i think i'll leave the DAC/AMPS to them for now.

Just make a decent & affordable 3" version of
Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi 4.0
Sony Walkman Z or Cowon z2
no need for wifi and video from my side,
but thin, small, powerful, customizable and audiophil

A "N2-pro" would also be great.
It just need another firmware,
without useless ebook and recording functions, endless initializing and with resume play from sd...

I agree. I would be interested in a smaller screen music player, but not necessarily need a video function.
