Agreed,an amp with the N2 is overkill. I'm finding myself using the Normal setting more and more...my "naturalist" side is screaming at me to do it,lol. Amps are indeed fun,with a good headset the combinations of sounds can be almost limitless

I am guessing that using an amp with the N2 would also be a bit overkill, hence why i haven't really tried, all i can imagine using an amp with the N2 would be to send too much power to my earphones.

The N2 are even able to drive the HM5 quite well, as well as my SFlo2 can.

I just received my N2 and so far it is great, but I have one question. I have gotten it to play my mp3, flac, and ape files, but it doesn't seem to recognize my ogg files. The Nationite site says it supports Ogg, so I'm a bit confused. I thought maybe it was because my ogg files were encoded using an older version, but I just made a new file and it still wouldn't recognize it.

Any suggestions?

Probably a misprint on the site, but ogg format is not supported.

Ah, that's disappointing but certainly explains my troubles. Fortunately I only have a few albums that are in OGG format. I'll just re-rip those CDs.

I just got my N2 from Amazon (29,95 bucks for the 8GB version was a thing to enjoy).

So far, I like the BBE feature on this one. The thing that is annoying me a bit is some stuttering on the begining of the tracks... I'm not sure someone had this problem before, I'll try to read the forums...

It does not happen all the time, and that's weird. even the same track, sometimes will not show the stuttering...

Long time since I had my hands over a Nationite player... I was missing this feeling!

I like A LOT the way the screen is presented, kind of futuristic look!

BTW, to TWP, if he even read this post, I'm enjoying it and making some comparisions with rockboxed Clip+, and rockboxed Fuze... hehehe :twisted:

Congrats on the purchase, for the $30 that you paid for it, that's quite a bargain.

I do get the stuttering very occasionally, but from memory I haven't had it for quite a while. It may have been around the same time when I cleaned up my files, i.e. removing album art and unnecessary ID3 tags so you may want to try that. A couple of pages back, large files such as flac have been reported to have the issue too.

Just now I got rid of all the tags on my files (all 192kbps CBR mp3 files), and the stuttering is still very present, actually, getting worst... I'm trying everything I can to get rid of this annoying thing...

Does anyone have any hints about this issue?

Its due to the internal buffer clearing the memory, its been present since the production before last and on any units that loaded newer firmware. There isn't any solution at the moment. Larger files and flac files tend to have this issue more.

I'm having the same problem, and that's why I'm here, to find a solution.

I have a N2 4gb and I like it VERY much. So I was waiting fot a chance to grab a 8gb for a long period. Bought it from Amazon for ~30USD plus shipping to Br, which almost equals MP4Nation ~70USD price.

But now I'm very disappointed. Every track change the music start playing, there's a little gap on the sound, and it continues. I was using it to go, so I took some time to notice this problem. I'm very disappointed, since my 4gb device works flawlessly and I was all the time happy with it.

Reading that there's no solution is really bad. I don't think this thing is usable with that problem. And I don't know what to make with it right now...

In time: So far I know, I was the one who made Louis know about the Amazon ~30USD deal on Nanite N2. And I recommended N2 strongly.

And now we both ended with defective products. I feel scammed.
