Well, on the plus side, we're all looking forward to your review. :D

The P30 occupies a tough niche and isn't much of a seller in China. The AKG K420 is a huge seller at a lower price point and the K450 sells big at a bit higher point. Same for the Sennheiser PX-100-II and 200-II. The Audio-Technica "ONTO" (both real and fake) is also popular for a portable headphone.

I'll post my comments. I should be getting them tomorrow. I traded a pair of phones I had that didn't fit me well for them.

Soundmagic headphones have never sold well, i've used their older P20 and the sound was good but the design of the actual headphones left a lot to be desired. I haven't read much on the P30 but the few i've seen have given it good marks.

Give us a review when you get a chance.

I got them today. I was told they are a lot better than the P10 or P20 (which I never heard) and use a completely different design for folding. They are good, solid portables. I hate the feel of IEMs so I need small headphones for portable purposes. The P30s fold flat, are durable and well made. The are closed, comfortable, and offer decent isolation for how small the cups are. The sound has clean, non sloppy bass. The mids are more smooth than detailed, and the highs are nice and pleasant. Not at all harsh. The overall sound is laid back and more smooth than detailed. There is nothing objectionable at all with these and I feel they deserve some merit and attention.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like they keep true to the rest of Soundmagic products in that they are good.

I've noticed that with each iteration of the P series that their build quality on their foldable models has been getting better, i remember the P10 being a bit flimsy.

Thanks for the impressions; glad they worked out for you. As I wrote previously, Soundmagic's conventional headphones just don't get the love in China, probably due to the tough price point. The same can't be said for their IEMs, which despite the age of their entire lineup, are still steady sellers and just as well-received as the reviews outside China would indicate.

I think its down to their design, i just don't think the design really appeals to many people. SM do have some newer headphone models with the more traditional look, not sure if they have been released yet or not, they won't be cheap either, but the more traditional design might make them more widely accepted.
