but if they're going up against meizu and xiaomi then they would be working on making a more custom version of android.

I think they're listening:

Oppo Real R807

Note the R807 is a second phone scheduled for release at the same time as the Find 3. Very un-Oppo.

Yeah saw this a while back. I actually quite like the styling, not so much the textures/brushed effect used but the general appearance and packaging, looks very business like and shows a surprising attention to detail. And for once does not look iPhone clone like either. Even the UI looks decent, the overlay and customizations are pretty impressive, some mad transitional effects and widgets and menu tweaks and stuff, must have a solid developer team. I also hear they are using the exact same camera sensor as the iPhone 4s although the settings are not as well tweaked and the images it produces not quite as balanced.

They are absolutely delusional though when it comes to the pricing, its more expensive than the Meizu MX.

Nice UI shot there, sort of the new win mobile look.

Thats their advertised price, might be quite different in an actual store.

Looks like the going rate on Taobao is around $515, so yeah, higher than the MX. It's still in limited release, so should fall over time. No way can they hold steady on a mobile phone price for as long as they did with their MP3 & MP4 players.

Speaking of which, I was surprised to see a lot of people still buying the (legendary?) S39 on Taobao and still paying near its original 899 RMB list price. I get it's the last of its kind and certainly among the best Rockchip-based MP4s ever made, but wow.
