It's on and off from what I can tell. And mainly off, but it has popped up twice for extended periods so we'll see.

What exactly is the issue when you use it with your Cowon?

KLW &Apollo thank you both for your reviews and I am really glad that both of you are enjoying the M4.

I'm trying to get a sense of where the M4 fit in in terms of what I own. I don't like buying IEMs with an overlapping sound signature . I have: Sunrise SW-Xcape v1, Fischer Audio Silver Bullet, RE0 (which I no longer use), VSONIC GR07, Xears XE200PRO, ECCI PR401

One thing I'm definitely not a fan of is the recessed mids of the PR401 although I have found the EQ to fix.

I wish I had some of those to compare them to, but I'm afraid I don't. Perhaps someone else will have some.

From time to time the audio on either side will drop with some static when I touch the jack. The problem seems to be persistent at this point so I'll have to open a ticket. A real shame too... All that waiting just to RMA it in weeks -_-

I've been using the M1 recently and the M1 is perfect honestly. As were the ATH-AD700 and FC700 when I tried them. I may have to open up my Klipsch Promedia IEMs just to quad-check but at this point the M4 seems to be to blame. Honestly though, when I first received the M4 I immediately thought the M1 had better build quality. At any rate hopefully this replacement won't take long, I really enjoy the sound signature of the M4, without a single EQ change.

It sounds like the jack, but it's strange that it doesn't have that problem with your other players. The M1's do sound good, no doubt, but I have to disagree about build quality in comparison. Don't get me wrong, the M1's are solid, but they're plastic, compared to aluminum on the M4's. Anyways, I hope you get the situation ironed out.

The wires and 3.5mm header on the M1 seem much sturdier than the M4. I'm guessing there's something wrong with the actual 3.5mm header.

Just received the M4.

This may sound silly, but where is the button for the remote function? Is the whole mic a button?

Yeah, the cables do seem to be more heavy duty on the M1. Perhaps you're right about he header.
