They are 9.7 inch IPS 10 point touch. Assume that the price about the same. What do you think if you want to pick one?

when it comes to gadgets like these my mind is always made up by asking myself the question... "is the manufacturer going to support it? and if not, what are the chances of it being supported by a developer community instead?"...

in this case i'd end up going for the touchpad... there are some very talented individuals working toward getting CM7 running on it. it's already a nice tab but it's going to get awesome in the coming weeks.

The first batch of the U9GT2 is apparently having touchscreen issues. I was considering that one too, but it's better to be safe and wait it out then to risk it and end up receiving a defective device.

Go for the HP Touchpad, overall better device and there is quite a lot of momentum from 3rd party developers.
