I saw this at http://www.sdkjsc.com/aini-12208532647.html and am intrigued.

Am interested in ability of stereo FM radio and recording (in stereo) the FM radio.
Also, what battery life?
Are there look-a-likes without features to be wary of?
Does anyone have one and a manual (downloadable?) for complete & reliable information?

Actions based player with a true FLASH based user interface, brands using this are cooper, KO and Gemei (they all have players using this system)
no manual as these are only in china as far as i know
battery was reported as 2 hours - but this all depends on what you are doing

Thanks for the information. I see you're familiar with this. Do those other Actions chip players you mentioned have this same look/design. I really like the look, but haven't seen how it moves. Do you know if there are videos of any?

Are these Actions chips known for stereo FM & FM stereo-recording?

This picture of the radio shows functions (I'm assuming for the radio) on the left side. Any way to translate this (the characters are in the graphic) to discover if that microphone icon is for FM recording (microphone usually means voice recording)?

Yes, that's the word for "record sound".

Here's a video for the Gemei HD8800:

and if you're really smitten, it's a pretty popular player so there's quite a few more for your viewing pleasure (first one on the page is the previous link):

Pretty cool; I didn't know Sony & Actions were cooperating now

yes, good old SONY eh, putting their name to this little player!!!! - i thought the days of this kind of shameful, despicable, deceitful, cheesy, disgusting, low-life, scum-of-the-earth, lying, cheating little shi**y behaviour werte long gone, but apparently not

anyway, these seem like an interesting little device, not had anyone here thats had or has one of these devices, but they are pretty cheap, but watch for that battery life, flash is a power hungry beast at the best of times

Thanks (chengdude) for translation and links. That player looks like it has all the features (and more), but this one's design is more cool. ;) I hope these newer players have "stereo" for everything. (Once had one with stereo-FM, but recording only in mono -- not cool.)

And thanks (maderin1) for the battery warning. (It's so hard to get everything right when they don't list all the information.) My old MP4 had a smaller-than-the-compartment-space battery. Maybe 2 batteries wired in parallel, if there's enough room inside in these new ones? Or maybe an external battery (clumsy, but if it works, then okay)?

not sure about the physical size of the battery, but i assume they are full to the internal space, the cheaper the player the cheaper the battery quality, its one of the things that can suffer when prices are too cheap, against, i have not played with or seen anyone with a player based on this set up so i cant comment from personal knowledge but just from what i have read and common sense really, i like these in terms of they are different and the FLASH based UI does intrigue, but the flash UI could also be its down point as flash can be a power hog and the reason for battery drain .. but, they can be found very cheap so may be worth a try
