I think some of you will remember my Retro theme for OS-43, and then you'll understand the feeling...

Yes, I still have that on my OS 43.

 I have an OS-43 lying on my desk, almost dead... I've sent it to Raz once, to get it working again, but it is broken one more time, and no warranty, now...

It was a nice player, till it died on me... Now it work as a enourmous pen drive!

I also think that it looks pretty good and your retro theme for the OS-43 was great.

My OS-43 still works but my S-flo2 died...the OS-43 was a year or 2 older and used much more heavily... I love the sound and the FM-out on the OS-43. When my Os-43 dies, I will probably buy a Tracfone cell phone just to use as an MP4 player and camera....but I wish there will be a new generation of MP4 players that combines the best features of the OS-43 and the S-flo....I don't think one could do better than that for an MP4 player.

And I love the retro theme on my OS-43...it looks the best

Here is one of them!!! LOL

Hey, DS! Nice to see you around! And really impressed you still have the OS-43 with my theme on it!!!

i agree on the styling of the T59, its certainly interesting to say the least -i cant see it coming out in teclast form anytime soon, maybe we need to hassle raz to be the first to release it :)

If the illustration is accurate, the T59 is going to be "portable" in the sense that you can easily carry it around, like from your desk at home to your desk at the office. How many MP3 players do you know that come with a DC power jack, not to mention an analog rotary volume knob? They're probably going to stuff it with "5 cores" of hi-res compatible, power-sucking components and not be too bothered with optimizing, well, much of anything related to battery life...if there's even a battery in it.

Still, it looks like a neat device and will probably be fairly priced. Hopefully, they'll dumb down the firmware to focus on music & playback, thus cutting down the number of possible things-that-never-looked-right-or-worked-well that Teclast has built its reputation on.

If the "leaks" keep appearing with regular frequency, then it's under active development with a pending release. There was one last week, so perhaps next week...

I just got a VX590R a few months ago that had a dead battery. I was actually thinking about cracking it open to see if there was in a battery in it myself. I laughed out loud when I read your post.

TWP remarked on another thread that he'd buy a PMP that just played video and I had agreed with him. I'll admit when I started buying PMPs over the web a few years ago, I was kind of geeked by all the different features thrown in like text readers, picture slide shows, etc. But I would be interested in a device that only played music and video. Even better put in the hardware DAC and amps to work w/ good BBE feature and treat video as a secondary option. We already have regular PMPs, so a music first device would be a good change of pace.

I've never heard of the Colorfly CK4. I'll have to Google this.
I did notice a few YT videos on it.

Colorfly is another one of those smoke 'n' mirrors "audiophile" companies. Seriously, check out their website; if a company can't be bothered to notice the high-resolution photos of their products are upside-down or reversed, what can they be bothered with? The CK4 borrowed some generic PMP box and they used a plug to cover up the hole where the HDMI port is supposed to be. They also use several [cough] proprietary [/cough] chips in their players. Firmware glitches galore according to the good folks with money to burn over at that big audiophile forum. Oh yeah, it's a dead product, but if you want one, it looks like the remainders are going for about $125 (plus shipping from China). I'm thinking you probably have a whole lot of better things to do with your hard-earned money, though. :P

The whole deal of a portable high-resolution music player is just frought with issues. If it's such a slam-dunk, why hasn't Cowon bothered to build in the capability into even just one of their players? Fiio was getting close with their X3, but then their provider bailed because they were too busy with projects for much bigger clients. Certainly understandable, but skeptics & conspiracy theorists might think otherwise.

I expect the T59 will be another fun, interesting, but tragically flawed, device from Teclast. I'll be the first to eat my words if they prove me wrong.

wont be any need to eat any words chengdude as i can almost guarantee it will be both interesting and a disaster at the same time, its a shame we have to have a "glass half empty" outlook on this but come on! where is the evidence that it will be any different - the only way it will shine is if they custom built the firmware, mastered the art of battery conservation and built a UI that could actually be used - no, im afraid this will be another T series players that "could have been" - in fact i can actually pin-point my drop in interest in players to the T51, after thast i pretty much gave up .......

Dude... LOL

Watching that video, for one moment I was thinking: Man, I'm going into some old Sci-Fi movie here! Or the new Warehouse 13 series!

The feeling was somewhat like to hold something simmilar to the Farnsworth Communicator:
