Hello

I've recently registered, but have been following certain threads to learn and understand better these PMP.
So, on to my problem.

I've alot of music, some of them in MP3, some of them in FLAC. All of it is pretty well organized using MediaMonkey, with track and album title, track and disk number, and Album Art.

I use MediaMonkey to send the musics to the V9000 internal memory, and choose to not copy the folder.jpg, include Album Art (if smaller than 150kbyte), and a certain directory and file order to maintain things organized.

Now, and i can't pinpoint the cause, when the copy is done, and i remove the usb cable, when the device starts updating the media library, enters a reboot loop with the Ainol logo on a white background, and i'm forced to re-flash and format internal memory.

Anyone has suffered this issues ? Can anyone advise? I'm running the latest firmware from ainol website.
I'm trying the 0412 firm, to see if the problem is still present. I noticed that though the file is much smaller, the "update" is taking quite long... is this normal ?

Haven't heard of this issue before. When you copy and paste directly, without using MediaMonkey, does it still have this issue? I'm guessing not.

You may try to just load a few songs with MediaMonkey, and see if it still does it. Perhaps load some songs that are just in .mp3 format, and not FLAC, or just some FLAC, and not .mp3. There may just be some corrupted files.

You may try using another program to load with, at least to see if it works.

Sorry, I'm not much help here, but I haven't encountered this problem here before. Perhaps others will chime in...

BTW, welcome to the forum, glad to have you here.

On the format issue, i have a rule tehat all files above 192kbps bitrate, are converted on to mp3 192k vbr before copying. So, on the device, only have mp3 files. Also, IF i copy only the music WITHOUT album art, i don't have any problems. Then it hit me.

The device supports AlbumArt if in a tag on the mp3. Not a jpg file on the same folder (usually folder.jpg).
So, I have a bunch of covers in jpeg... and some in PNG. Can it be that the device does not support PNG in the Album Art? Is the imagefile converted from jpeg/png/bmp/whatevah to specific format or structure on the ID3 tag ?

Also, i will try SongBird and see if it works better :) I only use MM to do automated cumbersome tasks :)
I know this issue is really difficult to debug without Ainol on our side.. :) But thanks for the reply :D

Weekend is at the doorstep, i might have more time to try and solve this puzzle :)

*UPDATE 20110909*
I tested as much as possible. JPEG vs PNG... i tried a (VERY) large cover (the jpeg was 18mb) making most 192kbps mp3 20+ mb.
Nothing. I'm suspecting perhaps a way to big media library, or perhaps a strange char/id3tag/other in the files...
Issue is, only with AlbumArt in the tags (does not work as folder.jpg) do i get a player crash.

Tested SongBird, no on-the-fly conversion from flac's or adding cover to id3tag... i'm lost.
Anyone know of a media organizer that beats MediaMonkey??

Also, i am willing to try a downgrade of firmware, but i only have v9000hdg_0412, which i belive is pretty old.
Anyone knows where can i find a more recent one ?

I use Winamp, but I've never used it to send files to my players.

Here's the Ainol firmware page. Just find the right one/version: http://www.ainol.com/plugin.php?identif ... e=download

i use winamp to send files and all is well whenever i have used it
PNG as embedded art can cause problems with many players so i would avoid that
does all work fine if you drag and drop from explorer
corrupted files can cause problems and is the cause of mad reboots on a few players as it happens when the medialib is trying to update the library and it hits songs it dont like

I think i pinpointed it. I tried ogg+png, ogg+jpg, mp3+png, mp3+jpg.

OGG made the player crash. I had a album that due to a lower bitrate, was not being converted to mp3.
Also, one particular Album in FLAC+jpeg was giving me problems. Could not pinpoint that one out, i made MediaMonkey re-download albumart and track names.

Everything is working OK now, yet due to the 2000+ mp3 collection, update media library is painfully slow. Is there a way to disable it ?

*SLIGHT OFFTOPIC*

Anyone know where can i buy the extra gift package? Remote, OTG cable and such ?

Thank you!

Any chance of flashing a 3rd party (other brand, same chipset) rom?

Good to see you got it figured out. Way to hang in there and get the job done.

I woukld strongly advise against this unless a rom is confirmed to work in your player.
