mmm .. nice update, i hope the build is as solid as the original as i dont like the look of the removable clip, it looks brittle and flimsy and this looks plastic instead of metal??
it looks nice but somehow flimsy, one thing i adore about FiiO is their solid, well built feel of their products, the E11 also has a flimsier feel than i expected and from what i see this looks .... cheap .. im sure it will sound good though as the original was a very popular device

The plastic clip looks removable?

Also, wow major brain fart on the grammar on that blog post, thankfully all fixed up before someone could leave a rude comment and ruin my evening.

the clip is removable - or, as it is often known, "where the hell did i put that clip!"
looking at the weight, 16g compared to 30g it has to be plastic, but come on, its not like the original was too heavy!!

the clip was a major thing for me when i used this, while removable is nice i worry about how sturdy these new ones are

Sorry, Fiio...what a major downgrade from the original. See Sansa Clip >> Clip+ for the correct way to do an upgrade...and, come to think of it, Sansa Fuze >> Fuze+ for the wrong way.

ClieOS has one an says it is quite better sounding than the E5. Smaller and lighter and extra EQ with -3db bass boost to add more versatility. Clip is now removable for a choice of clip or loop use and it comes with a spare clip. Yep, a major downgrade!

there are 2 levels of change here, the insides and its abilities and the outside and its durability, if the outside and build quality is not up to much then it could render the device useless regardless of its additional features, at the moment all we have to comment on is the design, materials and look and possible durability and i think this is where chengdude, and certainly myself are coming from - the original was a hit for being a beautiful, solid well made bit of kit

i hope we are wrong and its still solid, durable and all that jazz - if FiiO want to send me one to give to my son (a 14 year old that cares not for looking after things) to do a durability, real world test then please do, the E5 has already proved a tough little bugger and id like to see this do the same

The E3 was fine being all plastic and FiiO has a fine track record so far. ClieOS has no complaints about the build. Not much of a FiiO fan boy but seems like a bit of a harsh reaction. No reason at all yet to doubt this will do just fine like the E3, Sansa Clip+, or other small plastic devices. I am skeptical of more than a of brands/companies but I'll give FiiO the benefit of the doubt till they drop the ball.
