here are specs i need

- capacitive
- 7" or higher (ideally 8" would be perfect)
- no 3g
- capable of playing most recent games like asphalt 6 or gameloft hd games like shadow guardian, nova 2, etc..
- proper flash 10 support
- good internet browsing experience
- decent battery life (ideally a removable and easy to replace battery so that i can use a spare battery if needed)

price range $200 - 250

was looking at Wits A91 Cortex-A8, dropad A8i, Haipad M1++, ainol novo8... would like your opinions on these tablets and other suggestions of tablets meeting my specs.. thanking you in advance

and ideally i would like a tablet that is widely supported by the community (custom roms and mods)

just so you have a reply i will answer but i cant really help on the bst tab issue im afraid .. oh, and welcome

some things i can mention - removable battery - that limits your choice to 1 (or poss 2) so dont make that an issue, also, if you do happen to find one with removable battery then make sure the company offer an external charger - wits dont make a charger so its kind of a pain

best advice i can give is youTube, there are just so many vids of these things playing games that its a great place to look, dont forget to loo at the stores own viddeo channel and their android reviews

by all account the novo is a good game player, there was early mention of some accelerometer games not working properly but i dont know how that went

anyway, we have a couple of novo users here so give them an ask and see what they say

good luck

Only one in the list that seems to have a removable battery is the A91, i have not tried it out yet, but wits is a good maker of tablets, but it would probably not have good video playback, something that affected the A81 variants also.

If you want something that does not have a removable battery, good browsing, flash, game and especially battery life then go for the Renesas tablet:

renesas has removable battery? thx for the advices

one question: for non-removable battery tablets... how long will the battery completely die? in general, is it difficult to open the tablet and replace the internal battery?

renessas does not have removable battery

on the midnite / wits tablet its jsut a slide-off panel on the bak to replace the battery, much like a phone, but be aware that to charge a spare you will have to charge it in the player as there is no external charger - so you will need to be organised

A RAmos Tablet might be nice - -
Such as W12HD coming soon
And of course,it's a non-removable battery tablet
Based on the develop ability of Ainol's Tablet,NOVO Series is not really a good choice
Or you could have a RK29 Solution Based Tablet

The battery will generally last you throughout the life of your battery as long as you do not do anything to damage the battery.

I don't think RAmos are really any better or worse than Ainol in terms of build quality and android firmware support, both the companies tablets will need to reply on third party rom makers to really take advantage of their tablets. The only exception ar ERk2919 tabs which have pretty good android implementation, but that's due to Rockchip more than any of the manufacturers.
