Hello from France !

I am searching for a tablet for my son.
This tablet must run videogames and play HD videos on HDMI.
I prefer a capacitive screen with multitouch and if possible with bluetooth.
Internet is important too.
Taking photos will be a plus.
The price: around 210$.

I am interesting for three models.
The problem is to have a good idea of the performance of the tables.
I know that a new version of Android is out (3.0)
Is it compatible with this tablets ?
Another problem is the update for each models, firmware update for defaults or for compatibility.

Finally, I don't know the capacity of the batteries.
Have a tablet that you can't use without a plug is not very interesting.

What is the best choice between Corepad7, Novo8 or RENA3 ?

Thanks by advance for your returns !

Personally, I'd go for the Corepad 7 for now. It's been around for awhile and there is more info available for it. I've seen good reviews for it on the forum so far.
Ainol's Novo 8 and RENA 3 are the new kids on the block. You may wait awhile to see more in depth reviews from buyers and see if any custom ROMs start to show up for them.

I have the CorePad 7 and its a good tablet. I have a review of it on here you might want to check out:

I wouldn't go for the Rena 3 as its a little under powered in my opinion. The Novo 8 looks good apart from the battery life.

Well none of these tablets will officially get 3.0, but if that is a very important to you then i would suggest going with the coretab, this has the most 3rd party dev going on for it right now, so there would be a better chance of this getting a unofficial update to 3.0 than the other tabs you have mentioned.

Performancewise the Coretab and Renesas are pretty much the same, you can go with either and you'll be happy, the only thing the renesas edges out in performance is battery life which on the Renesas is really good.

Thanks for your advise.

I have read that Android 3.0 doesn't need buttons to work.

Why Ainol has put all of this buttons on the front of the Novo8 ?

because there is no road map or guarentee that this player will get android 3.0, besides some people do like and prefer some physical buttons on players

So, if nobody develops a road map for this tablet, no Android 3.0 ????

I'm sorry but i was thinking that Android was like a Microsoft Windows ???

not really, some tabs wont support it due to hardware limitations, and we have had no tabs from china with android 3 yet and none have advertised it yet, plus i think the legalities and distribution has changed for android 3 or at least is s till in development ... who knows if homebrew versions will appear, we will have to wait and see, but for now do not buy a tablet expecting to update to 3.0 without official confirmation

There's a difference between these generic chinese tablets and the big name brand tablets like samsung, HTC ect. These generic china tabs are NOT supported by google. The only updates they will get, are if the factory decides to release an update(not likely) or if someone makes a custom ROM for that specific tab(more likely but still not guaranteed). Android is not like windows. Android is highly fragmented and not guaranteed to function smoothly on every device.

If Android 3.0 is a big concern for you I would suggest you buy one of the big brand tablets that is already running 3.0 and is supported by google or waiting a while for china tabs to catch up to 3.0. If you buy a china tablet right now with 2.2 or 2.3, don't expect it to receive a 3.0 update. Chances are the only way you'll get 3.0 on it is if someone develops a custom ROM for it which means again there is NO guarantee.

That's clear.

I don't know if it's important to have Android 3 on a tablet, but I suppose that there will be new applications available only for this new version of Android ???

I suppose that the only way to have this compatibility is to choose a chinese tablet wich interested enough people.
Maybe there will be custom rom for this models ?

Are Android games compatible with a Novo8?

Corepad7 has a Processor Cortex A8 monocore.
Novo8 has a processor Cortex A9, but is it monocore or dualcore ?

If it's a monocore processor, the Corepad7 is more efficient ? Isn't it ?

Thanks.
