which 43 are you thinking as they have the 43 media player and the 43 android

the 43 media player is old tech from 2-3 years back - so i would ignore that, loook for Chinese pmp based on the sc9800 chip, like the 2 ondas in p4nations shop - sc9800 player alot of diff formats up to 1080p

I think the archos 43 is a new generation 8 model, prior to that you had the archos 5 and archos 5 internet tablet using their own OS and android, respectively. The Onda models sold here are great if you don't need wifi and apps. I use a sc9800 player myself and have been very pleased with the video playback + battery life.

the archos 43 vision http://www.archos.com/products/mp3_play ... us&lang=en is not that old for Archos, its just that for their vision series they dug up some cheap older chinese players and re-branded them, just to add a cheap range for quick cash

They are not really a rebrand of the T8 as RAmos do not make it for Archos, but they are essentially the same player, however you should really avoid this type of player as it is quite out dated, you can get much better players for the same price that Archos chooses to charge for this model.

If you really want something mainly for videos and don't need wifi/internet on your player then the VX590 is not a bad choice, it will beat most big brand players when it comes to video playback.

Right now I'd recommend a SC9800 Ainol or Onda player. The 16GB Onda VX590 is a very good deal. A lot of attention has been diverted from PMPs to Android devices, so I think that the SC9800 chipset is the best PMP platform right now. Other than that, I'd suggest looking at the "touch + button" Ainol PMPs like the 5" Ainol V5000HDG. It's just w/ these resisitive touch screens, I like having the option of using buttons too.

yes i agree i like the look of the 16GB Onda VX590 but no buttons have put me off quite a bit..is the 5"Ainol V5000HDG 16gb ? dont know why so many of these players are only 8gb seems to small for there use seeing as films can be 4gb plus
