The tab on the lower right has the widgets. Sometimes though, you have to reboot for it to show, IIRC. I've been using a different launcher for so long now, I forget how the stock one works.

There are a few different firmwares floating around including ones with Android 2.1 and 2.2.

What's dragon2knights upgrade? You mean the apps? I have an experimental build from SlateDroid, and use the dxTop Pro launcher. I really like that launcher. Costs a few bucks, but well worth it, imo.

I'm a noobie and DIDN'T ugrade to the firmware that is on Page 1 (wonderfully done by TWP). I followed his ROOT THE ROCKTAB, first, to see what that would do and I was extremely pleased with how much smoother scrolling was and much quicker using the back arrow to back out of things. I never got it to PERMANENT root, but I clicked to soft root and had to click that every time i rebooted to root. I've also enjoyed the browser update that I installed for the stock browser. After that I didn't want to keep trying this and that browser and could get on with playing with apps. I am trying one of the EXPERIMENTAL firmwares floating around. If you're a computer guru, try one out, if not.....maybe not yet....Whichever FW is the best for Rocktab right now is.....UMMMMMMM....

Oh yeah, when I use a different home launcher (l like Open Home-free) I notice things slow down a bit, but not bad. I kept going back to stock home(you know the one that won't hold wallpaper change) launcher. To me it was worth it to stay with that one, because everything just seemed to respond quicker. After rooting, it even snappier...to me anyway.

I believe hes talking about the firmware upgrade that I put up on the first page by TWP. Its worth it to do it,but there are different ones to choose from.

Yeah I knew he was going to go for that firmware and probably thinks that it will NOT ONLY fix the wallpaper issue, but make his tab run even smoother. Since I had only rooted the original rocktab firmware and never upgraded to the C901 Acho fw, I was pleasantly surprised at how much snappier the tablet was. I flashed the xperia 1.5 the other day and can't get connectbot permission like I got on original firmware that came with my device. Did I need to use that upgrade and then upgrade xperia? Do you have to climb the ladder with different firmware to work, or can you just go enie, meenie, mIIIne, moe and chose one you want to try? How does that work?
