What comes with the Rocktab not indicated on the homepage? My OS-42 just bit the dust and now you have given me reason to upgrade my video viewing experience with ebook reader and web browser! :)

I got a sample unit, but I know the Rocktab doesn't come with a case.

I converted a DVD rip using Matt's DVD to HDVP2 guide, and it works flawlessly on the Rocktab: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=19093

Let's see a USB cable, an AC power charger, pair of generic ear buds, and I think that is it. ooh and the Translated manual.
On mine a standard avi works fairly well. A small sync problem, but considering it's on a smallish screen it's hardly noticable.
Until I can figure out what went wrong I am staying away from the MKV files. They look horrid on the RockTab, not sure why yet.*
*Not a question for here, just observational. :)

Matt's guide is to mkv. It works perfectly on the Rocktab. Way better than my .avi's. Like you said, avi's (at least my avi's) have syncing problems. But I do understand it sucks to have to convert all the movies over just to be player specific.

The reason why I thought this was a good video player was the Dragon2Knight videos. It appears he is playing AVIs as well. Which leads me to my next question, with my OS-42 my audio sounded horrible. I had it cranked to 32 and it still wasn't loud enough (quite faint actually). I use ViDrop to convert but is there something I can do to make the audio better? Is there a format that works better for audio? And if I do get a Rocktab, what is the *preference* for video format?

Thanks,

Davey

rocktab is loud, - very loud
cant remember but im sure you can increase volume during conversion in vidrop
Kristo - what settings are your videos at, my AVI Xvid at between 800-1200kbps 800x480 suffer from jerkiness and sync problems
i think that to get vids working correct will take a little work, it can be done, as has been proved, but its not as forgiving as say a dedicated sc9800 video player

im wondering if the updated 2818 version of the tab (Acho 901pro) would be like, the cpu is pretty much the same but it has ability to use much faster RAM and more of it - not sure if raz is gonna go down the branding route on that one
