The 2.1 eclaire definitly needs some serious tweaking, but I do think that it can work smoothly if tweaked enough. Just my 2 cents.

donaldson had 2.2 on there before, some time ago. I still feel the same way though. The RK2808 chipset isn't going to handle 2.2 apps.

Sounds to me as if the Rocktab isn't really suited for running 2.1/2.2 smoothly. (?)

What does the most recent Slatedroid 1.5 firmware change, and where can it be downloaded? (Can't see the relevant thread on there). Is Slatedroid 1.5 (or 1.6?) firmware still being developed? Thanks!

There is a 1.5 optimized but I prefer the original. Its on slatedroid's site. They are working on a 1.6

I am using the super eclair beta FW (2.1) and it is more responsive than 1.5 IMHO. Especially the keyboard!

You should try it, it is stable enough to stay on for me now. I have not turned off any effects on this latest version and still it is slick and responsive. The improvement in the on-screen keyboard alone still blows me away. It has a full predictive dictionary that starts populating words above the keyboard as you type (not just "Android") and as fast as I peck with my stylus (no multi-touch, so one at a time is all the Rocktab can handle anyway) I cannot get it to miss a keystroke! It may not display immediately, but by the time I am ready to hit 'go' or enter all the text is there.

There are still a lot of little things, but the core functionality is all there save SD saves from browser and full USB access (host).

Would i be able to connect to ad-hoc networks using 2.2, since 1.5 doesn't support it but from 2.0 it does?
