Got it, it was the string damper that was confusing.

I can see how you got hooked, the more I find out about Bowtech the more I'm getting drawn in, I cannot believe how smooth, balanced and ultra quite the Bowtech General is.

You have got to do a video of you using it, not really bothered what you shoot or how well, just want to see how it sets up and fires.

I'm definitely going to look into the UK archery clubs and see what it's like this side of the pond.

I was actually drawn to the Bowtech Guardian, the one in the how it's made video. It's a bit longer, and a bit more powerful, but the General is more forgiving, smoother, and quieter. Field and Stream magazine voted the General the best of the best. http://www.bowtecharchery.com/latest_ne ... -best.html

Really nice bow.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I guess that's another site for Bowtech, lol.

Yeah, crossbows are sweet. My father in law has one. They're illegal to hunt with here though, unless you are a senior citizen, or handicapped.

BTW, the arrows for a crossbow are called bolts.

I wish. I have to get arrows for it still. Plus the weather's crappy here right now. I could, of course, go to a range, I guess. Good carbon fiber arrows are around $100 for 12 arrows. My friend paid $185 for 12 good carbon fiber arrows. Easton's, I believe. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for. If you want good results, you gotta pay.

A good aim with cheap arrows = a bad aim, lol. If they don't fly true, no sense in using them. A 70# bow has a lot of force. An arrow bows and flexes like you wouldn't believe. A lot of factors play into it. Length, weight, nocking point, arrow rest, fletching, etc.
