IT IS A VERY SOLID AND WELL MADE PIECE OF HARDWARE (sorry .. caps) so you will have no probs there, speaker is loud and the FM transmitter is also pretty good, so you can have the navigation coming out of the car stereo :)
included GPS suction arm is very strong and has some good adjustments - mines been stuck to the side of the fridge for the last week and aint moved an inch
in my location it finds many satellites and fast, navigation with IGO 8 is fast and pretty accurate (well, as accurate as can be as i dont have up-to-date maps - another pain)

Good to know, thanks maderin1. iGo 8 and iGo Primo use the same maps, correct? Can anyone speak to the differences, I know Primo is newer but I am getting the impression from the web that people prefer 8.

I was a Magellan user for a long time (back in the early days of GPS) then switched to Garmin so I am inclined to Garmin XT but it seems like they no longer support it, and haven't for over a year? I have city navigator maps so that will probably be my first stop unless iGo 8 is clearly superior.

i cant comment on primo - i did see a ref today that primo needs alot of ram to run and some of the cheaper ones on the likes of DX only have 64mb and thus its crap - not sure how well it will run on this and cant test as i dont have and my life is too short to go chasing files around all the dodgy download sites im afraid - sorry

I didn't expect that, I know you've got better things to do. Just the insight about memory usage helps a great deal. I can see now why so many would be bad-mouthing it even though it's the "latest and greatest."

Since I have a long wait till I get mine I will have some time to find things to test on it when it arrives!

No doubt, the video by the Russian guy about the rootkit was scary, glad this Onda has no net connection it would probably be zombified in record time!

That price on the Hong Kong site was just a daily deal that happened to last 2 days I believe and the price on the USA site is also a daily deal that could end at any time.

79 is a good price as its one well built bit of kit and GPS side of it works really well - just a bit of a pain getting all the maps and software sorted as the supplied is chinese only

I know its well built. I have set my own up with sygic, igo8, route66 and destinator and it works very well. But considering original gps software is useless outside china and software for rest of the world will cost a lot of $, or download illegally, just to be able to use it, then 129$ is to much. 79$ is a great price, but i live in sweden and cant buy from mp4nationusa. I bougt mine for 99$ and thats also a fair price considering the above. I will not buy anymore of this great gps until it drops below 100$.
Have a nice day
