It doesn't work if you use 7z.exe that came with the tools.

But when I extracted ROOTFS.IMG using 7z that I installed on my computer, it extracted successfully.
Image
It created a folder called ROOTFS and there is a file called ROOTFS (without .img extension) in the folder.
ROOTFS.img before extracting was 34.4MB and the ROOTFS (the one extracted) is 102 MB.

Did I do this correctly?
I will investigate this tonight if I have time. I'm at work right now.

Note: I used v9000hda20100930 firmware.

Good job Mjordan. I should have thought of that, since opening up the FW's on the Rockchip.

The included batch files work perfectly if you run it correctly.
Only thing you need to do is to rename the name of a folder called ????? in the batch file.
(Make sure you that the folder you renamed actually exists.)

The batch file will create a winimage file in the folder. So just download winimage, and open it.(You'll need to add .img to the end of the name.)

When I opened it in winimage, I saw axf files, boot up logo image, wav file for key tone, etc.
I haven't figured out what to do from here.

You got a lot further than I did. Way to go, great job. Pisses me off that I didn't think of using the actual 7zip program, lol. The files inside the Rocktab FW open up with 7zip as well.

I know you've been wanting these tools for awhile. I should have released them some time ago, as I just lost interest in it. I used to love modding, but kinda got bored with it, I guess. I did 4 or 5 mods on the VX787, and a few on the VX555HD as well. Started one for the OS-72HR, but never finished it. I remember changing all those little icons on the 787. It gets to be a giant task, if you do a complete mod.

Anyways, good to see you're getting along well with the tools. Again, great job.

I was able to get the filesystem extracted and into UltraISO, but as to what to do with them, I have no idea ;p

Could not find any images in these files aside from the bootup images that show when flashing the firmware.
I think I know where its stored, but havn't figured out how to open it yet. Probably in /apps/touchtheme.bin.

I wouldve liked to be able to change the icon graphics on the Onda's firmware. Has anyone figured out yet how to open these bin files?
