Onda are not too bad but they are pretty boring imho, I have not been excited about mp3/mp4 players since the launch of the Meizu M3 and M6 which were great for sound but lacked something in the user interface.

When the T50 / Sflo came out it was as if the makers had been listning and gave us the touch flo with great sound but as you have said in the past Maderin, they put all the effort into hardware and about two days worth into the GUI.

It has been sometime since I have looked for a small pocket size mp3/mp4 player and all I can see at the moment is chunky video players or android tablets.

I have even thought of trying out some of the Apple fakes to see if they have improved.

no, the fakes have not improved mate - not one bit, i had the same thought and bought a nano 5th clone - oh dear - scroll wheel died after 2 days and fake apple connector was so bad i had to hold it in to connect to anything - sent for refund - they are as crap as ever

yep, chunky mp4 and tablets are all its really been for a while, the sflo2 is a solid bit of kit but chunky - great hardware .. excellent hardware, but, well, i wont go on about it again

there have been a few attempts at something smaller, some potential 3.6" players from cube with BBE was a small light, and small enough to carry about .. ish .. apart from that nothing to compare to the build nd quality of the meizu and as for some of the top brand player that have emerged nothing has really shone .. apart possibly from the cowon s9/J3

also modding has pretty much died a death too, i dont so any now really, just the sflo2 once and thats it, too many players now, not enough people with same player to make it worthwhile, plus several new systems that cant be modded, well, not easily

Yeah, i can agree w/ that. I was going to suggest some PMPs for raz on this thread, but when I started looking around I didn't see anything else from the last few months that's really that interesting. The 3.6" Cube w/ the BBE sounds good on paper, so I'll probably try one of those if I see one listed on a Christmas sale. But other than that, i don't blame raz for only having Onda PMPs listed right now.

Hopefully something will pop up in January of 2011.
