When i recieved the midnite it was in white box i managee to launch it 5 mins and found it more laggy than my lg gt 540. I logged in mp4nation.net and have been surprised to be able to talk to someone (alex and then hugo s) with the direct chat box that doesnt seems to work anymore on the bottom right of the page.

They calmed me took care of my request and after going to a shop to buy ac adaptater, charging, connecting on midnite section forum or/and going to witstech website to flash my device with last update 1029 and now 1102, this tablet was becoming more and more exciting (and ive got an ipad so i can compare, sure the sxreen is capacitive on ipad but very responding on midnite, im even writting this post from it but for the price theres no comparaison to be made).

I just finished to root my device and i feel a big improvment, and i now can use rotateD, you have to move or delete /system/lib/hw/sense.omap3.so after beeing root from root explorer or any other file manager and be sure that autorotate option is enabled in your system and launcher option, then reinstall rotateD, reboit and here we go !!

Finally, i made hd videos running smoothly in yxflash (market) but the rock player should do the job in 720p with no problem. I just now need to test adobe flash and i'll be ready to continue my futur mods for being able to launch other os's from changing the sd card, nearly done : Ubuntu, enlightenment, and i would love to manage moblin 2.1, Meego, Maemo and ... JOLICLOUD. I will keep you up to date.

To finish my happy post i tried MANY Games : Wave Blazer, Raging Thunder 2, Sandstorm, Asphalt 5 , they run perfectly.

As i'm french, sorry for my bad english but i wanted to tell you that i would be pleased to make any tutorial Update/Traduction.

Good product choice for nationite even if i was going to buy it from witstech anyway.

Thanks for your review, i am happy to see that the MIDnite has grown on you and that you are enjoying it. I think the latest updates have been really been making the MIDnite more and more stable.

720p is being worked on, the hardware can do 720p, in fact the wince that is out for the MIDnite (which we do not officially support) does do 720p video playback.

Yes, with a bit of settings, and knowledge in android wich i didn't knew at all and a check for updates on witstech website everyday, this product can't be compared to the one i received. Unfortunately, i'm aware you can't, make all midnite come to your office and optimise them all before them being sent to clients. Give a try at yxflash, i had made a video already on the iPad to show people 720p running, directly from a download link, so in fact, i was streaming smoothly an HD mkv when other users were thinking that the only way to watch videos was to convert them to mp4 on the computer before uploading them on the iPad with that supid iTunes, that was making a big difference with my discovery. Now, vlc showed that i was right and wrote and app for the iPad and now for iPhone, i'm sure we'll see soon enought one for Android.

Now, you can be sure my biggest wish is to port jolicloud 1.1 cause :
1 st : Nearly a Web OS , Does not take big place on local hdd
2 nd : It runs on an html5 interface now and i had begun an html5 interface too on linux cause you now can have opensource flash like light effect and it doesn't require anything else to be installed.
3 rd : They've opimised the whole OS for tablet like the Midnite and Touch Screens.
4 th : Best OS to Complement Android wich has got enought App and possibilities already cause jolicloud will be the same as the desktop Version and that will make an real Linux Desktop OS, with all its possibilities.

And don't forget that as a cloud OS, you can synchronise all yours Devices with it installed on so they're all up to date and the work you've made doesn't have to be transfered wich aint the case for nearly all OS Internet Browser Bookmarks except with plugins for advanced users, and i don't think that's normal now that the industry is making everything for us to buy many Devices, Pro Computer, Personnal Computer, Netbook, Tablet, Smartphone. Whoooo, Happy Exchange ! Joking ...

I am not familiar with jolicloud 1.1, it does sound like a very interesting OS with quite some possibilities for the MIDnite.
