Man, did anyone expect the Rocktab to be this good? I think we were all hoping for just an aPad with a better build quality, but this thing is just blowing it out of the water! Its running the same chip, I wonder what is causing the huge leap in basic functionality? Maybe the Rocktab has faster memory or something. Whats the most graphically intensive game you can get running on it dragon2knight? That Spiderman game looked neat, I'll defiantly be trying it out!

Damit Raz, where have you gone? We need delivery dates!

another nice review D2K - the accelorometer certainly is a boost on this

i would like to see various music apps running on this also and how well the player reacts when trying to navigate around lists etc when music is playing, the apad suffers badly in this simple task

In the comicviewer, it looks like there's a loading screen between every page. Doesn't this get annoying after a while? It seems like almost three seconds between every turn. Also, can you rotate the screen vertically and then scroll to the bottom of the page? Or does the font get too small to read this way? Thanks! I always wondered if 7" is enough to read my CBR comics on. I think I'd prefer the Archos 101's 10.1" screen for this.

I did see something about a large storm hitting China this morning. Maybe that has something to do with the delays in updates?

The first thing I did when checking out the app was to rotate the screen to see what it looked like....and it made everything harder to see/read,so I just kept it horizontal.Of course a bigger screen would help any app look better, but I feel that the 7" size on the Rocktab to be a perfect compromise between usability and portability.I actually dont mind the short loading times between pages,it adds to the anticipation of viewing the next page, lol. It isnt a long load, not by a long shot,so even after reading over 40 comics on it,I dont mind it at all :) If it bothers you,you might want to use faster sd cards, mine is a class 2 16gb,a class 6 would run circles around the one I'm using :) Just think about how much you saved by going the Rocktab route as opposed to the Archos route, and I think you'll smile all the way to the bank ;)

Thanks, maderin :) I will try different apps and report back, but the stock one is pretty good,no lag that I've noticed.

Whats causing the leap in performance has nothing to do with the ram,and everything to do with a polished, well done Android implementation...it just Works, and works well.We just arent used to seeing this level because all we had to work with before this was poorly manufactured cookie cutter tablets...amazing what happens when someone actually cares,eh ;)

@aaroNiGHTS Check on Monday for the delivery update, i forgot it was Friday night when i posted that, i do not normally work weekends and generally i try to be out of the house and not in front of a PC during weekend, hence why sometimes i seem absent from the forums on the weekends.

@D2K thanks for doing a second video, i was actually surprised driod comic book viewer worked. I don't think a change in SD card speed would make pages load faster, i think the Droid comic viewer is probably taxing the Rocktab quite a bit, probably using smaller, less high res comic files may work ever better. The same with PDF, this would tax the Rocktab a lot, the best type of PDF files would be text files, those with lots of graphics would slow the Rocktab a lot.

BTW you may want to download and try the eBook app from Borders bookstore, it can run on the Rocktab and should work well. It will also give you access to the entire Borders eBook store.
