I would maybe advise that next time you use your wits! It was fanboysm on your part, if you don't mind me saying, that made you act like that. Lessons must be drawn from this! ops: . To the person who said that we should not expect anything for $200, that is bull. This thing has been in prototype since NOVEMBER 2009, when they came out with the first version. They could not get it to work properly, so they 'fixed' the hardware and dumped their customers with a piece of garbage (the a81e firmware does not work on the old a81). Well I guess the sound now works on the new one lol.

I waited until June 2010, eagerly expecting the next firmware release to fix those annoying little problems with the original a81, so it was too late to expect an refund since I bought it in 2009. BUT, i can tell you if the next firmware For the a81e does not have flash, a working battery meter, sleep mode, and they do not fix the numerous annoying 'little' glitches like random re-booting, and the pathetic battery life, I am returning mine for a refund. This is just too much Deja-vu.

And for those of you who respond with, 'but there is an answer to this or that problem', THAT IS NOT HOW THE DEVICE was sold.

True, though I dont really have random rebooting, the lack of a working battery meter is really annoying me, the least they could do is have a working battery meter, if the next FW doesnt have a working battery meter AT LEAST, I'm switching to an Archos 70.
The MidNite is lovable, but annoying at the same time

Raz, if Wits doesnt buck up and fix problems that SHOULD be fixed, the consequences will the same as the aPads you sold previously,
I would recommend you would need to exert quite a bit of pressure on them.

Exactly my feelings now. I ordered A81E after reading quite positive reviews and now I'm (patiently) waiting for my unit to arrive, but I'm terrified after reading some recent comments about glitches and other problems.

Let's hope Wits release their new firmware soon and it solves as many problems as possible.

Stir it up, come on baby, stir up!! I like the expression!! But I'm not here to add drama, but rather to add a little comical relief. Initially I come here to read about new tablets and see, and then I get entangled reading the funniest of things really!! The battery indicator issue is really a great source of inspiration for me... If all of this can shed some light on the issue and encourage the manufacturer to use his wits (hahaha) to solve it, then the better.

In the meantime, for the fearful, you can try this do-it-yourself mod fix:
1-DIY battery level indicator - red light turns on = time to crank! http://tehnikservice.net/2010/05/08/bat ... indicator/
2-Hand crank - save your apps before the dreaded battery drain! (Also recommended: a 50-100 yards AC extension cord, try not to go for orange maybe)

Yeah it's true Ipaq is Xscale...

The true reason is there's as much Android fanboys as there's Apple's...

I don't know what's the thing with Android and IOS. I've tried Android for the first time yesterday on my netbook...well, Android-x86, and I don't see what's so dramatic about it. Sure, it manages the space well because it's made for a mobile, the menus are nice, reminiscent of some fancy linux windowmanager, you can find your way around. What? People are so tired of living they want apps to upgrade themselves through an itunes based interface, because that's what those markets look like right?... or is it they're finally discovering the potential of the linux software library or they're happy they can do a cat /proc or use grep or whatever? Maybe some people are fed up of Apple and that's it. Well, I just wonder if those Asian tablets would yield more features with older oses like xp for instance?

Thank you for your review sparkleforce, it had a grumpy edge but that is understandable, I have just ordered one myself and I am looking forward to hacking around with the unit

If only people were as interested in wits android builds as they are HTC HD2 android builds...

I for one specifically wanted a resistive screen so I could draw with a stylus on it, so I am happy to cop a little less finger responsiveness in return for that functionality... I hope your experience improves

Sad_user you seem to be getting quite offtopic, arguing about the merits of Android... it's open source, it's tidy, it's googley... what's not to love
