hmmm...you got to and got past the messages where it copied all the files?

Tried it on both Adeptus and Hazard, both should work just as well =)

Mate, did your say "files copied turn off the device" I cant tell weather its done or if I should wait ten minutes while it seems to do nothing...

Close to that; starts copying off the SD card then copying it to the NAND memory, finally asks you to reboot.

you mean you're stuck at the leaf wallpaper after rebooting?

so if i understand this clear...
if i want to use the adeptus rom with my new MIDnite, i have to replace the ubi.img from the CMO formware with the ubi.img from the adeptus rom, and i can still benefit the use of the custom rom? without the half screen bug?

Yep. It seems to all load up pretty quickly, I guess thats becauce it's a small img file.
BTW where did you get these files? Mp4nation seem to think there is no suitable FW for the new batch of screens. I pointed out to them that it was ok out of the box, so that FW must be floating around somewhere. ahh if only I had enough patience to wait for the new FW from Wits that's coming 'soon'

Question to Raz: Wouldnt it be possible for you to upload the firmware just as it is when sent from you/factory?

That would be a good way to get back to exactly how the device was configured upon arrival...

The firmware that comes with the MIDnite has a couple of extra apps installed, that isnt in the original Wits 0831 FW...

Oh F*#k this man! here I am at my office after 10pm trying to get this POS to flash and I've gone & shoved my SD card deep in to my cd slot. I really wanna blame some one else for this! I'm sure the local apple shop is going to gouge me to get that out!

And NO none of the above work for me. If I wasn't so addicted to gadgets & fixing stuff i'd say "F*#k you MP4 Nation, I want my life back!"

I understand your frustration, i will have the new firmware for the MIDnites with the new screws uploaded tomorrow.

So for now please just put your MIDnite to the side before you inadvertently do damage to it.

Thanks Raz, that is great news. Sorry for my firey post last night I was very frustrated. A good night sleep has me back on an even keel. If I could make my beautiful 27" iMac i7 'sneeze' and spit out my SDcard I'd be even happier. Although I think I'll be without it for at least a day in the next few weeks while it get surgically removed.

Also can you test that the firmware flash works 100% before posting? That COM one would not allow me to get past the green leaf screen. It didn't have as many files so I was trying all sorts of combinations with the other ROM's because it seemed like something was missing. Sounds like putting it to one side for I while will be wise!

So hopefully this new one later today will do the job. If I have trouble could you or a colleague help me out via a live Skype chat? (Skype can do amazing things with video & screen sharing) You have my e-mail address via the support tickets if you want to confirm that.

I'm hangin' on in there!

I'm hanging in there too. I have the half-screen problems after using a bunch of ROMs, none of which improved the situation. And to think I was planning to buy a bunch of these as Christmas presents for my extended family group. No way after this debacle. I will be happy just to get the present brick fixed and that's it. I don't like inflicting pain and frustration on others. Also totally unimpressed with some of the vague waffly comments from one or two other users who offered suggestions that led me totally down the garden path. If you don't know the solution please keep your fingers away from the keyboard.

When I attempt to open the archive downloaded from the provided MegaUpload link I get:

"Unexpected end of archive"

And the file is far too small to be a ROM.

Please upload it again.
