hi,

anybody hat a look at the new haipad (seems also be called nupad 7)?

http://www.slatedroid.com/non-listed/76 ... touch.html

it seems to come with everything I desire:
NuPad MID
Android 2.2 OS
7" TFT LCD touch screen, 800*480px
14mm, ultra slim and stylish design
ARM V6L 720Mhz ARM 11 processor
256MB DDR2 RAM
Multi-Touch, Gravity Sensor
Built in 2GB Memory
0.3 Mega Camera

Now I am really biased. I like the mulit-touch, the g sensor, the lower price (compared to the a81-e), but the a81-e seems to be more powerful when it comes to hardware (cortex a8 compared to the arm 11). any ideas comments? just need a small push in one direction to get my decision... :-)

Regards

probably a telechips device - it will be a great video payer as this i about all the telechips based devices are good at, the Android implementation is apparently not well done t all
plus, just be careful with these no-brands and generics (this is generic no matter what NAME it appears under) - making cheap pads means cheaping out on usual expensive items - like the touch panel, now i have seen several references of late to DUAL touch resistive panels - so be carefull as it is not beyond the bounds that they will gladly call the screen capacitive if it has DUAL touch - anyway i would not touch with a barge pole

Hm,

that doesn't sound very promising. And you would consider the a81-e to be of good / superior quality? pandawill states that they droped this device because of its bad quality.

Lol yes I saw the pandawill review and. The backlash it got on slatedroid, the wits is far superior in build, no question, one bad reviewer against all the rest stating the complete oposite to pandawill should be proof enough, yes the wits needs some work still And its being done, buy a no brand generic and u will get lower quality hardware n u will not get the support and continued development from the source factory

well, I will sleep over it another night and make up my mind tomorrow (basically that is what I have done the last few days as well). I will definitely order one of these two before September ends (or before preorder2 ends to be more precise).

regards,

well good luck, have you visited slatedroid and had a look at people using players based on the telechip, also i am just skeptical that a device is so cheap but touts alot of features, i have been around chinese media player a long long time and these raft of generic Android tablets are following the same path, cheap to make, substandard parts and QC - its all about getting them out of the factory as fast as possible, and many a time this will mean skipping important things like Quality control, you only have to look at the cheap APAD units to see evidence of that

what i dont like about this

large icons and visual elements, looks HUGE and clumsy on these telechips

the dual touch is indeed NOT capacitive and does not work well at all, its a HACK basically ans when reading it many will think its like the ipods, its not, many reports from users claim its slower and jerkier than the apads 1.5 Android, which is mad
