Hey guys my brother gave me his 8gb mp4 player and it uses a rockchip rk2706 chip.

which looks like this: (but with a 3 inch screen)

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/32GB-2-8-LCD-Tou ... 3a5eb93fa7

One day when i removed it from the computer, the screen went red i turned it off and it would not switch back on. i then downloaded firmware for it from http://www.mypxplayer.com and it worked and it said the battery was empty 3 hours later i removed it from the charger (battery charge time) but it said the battery was empty and it turned off. i tried putting a replacement battery but it did not work. it does not want to use the battery.

what can i do? im completely out of options.

Finding the correct firmware, and re-installing it is all you can do. Are you sure you re-installed the correct firmware? There are so many look alikes out there.

That's the problem with these generic players. It's very difficult, if not impossible to find the correct firmware for them.
