Yup, here are the important bits:

Code:
Format settings, ReFrames        : 8 frames
More ReFrames = longer encoding time and more power to decode. A lot of the people posting on the forums saying XYZ file doesn't work on my player have issues because the ReFrames are so high. Usual values are 2-4.

Code:
Width                            : 1 280 pixels
Height                           : 544 pixels
It's a true widescreen presentation so it's a little thinner than usual.

Code:
rc=2pass
2 pass encoding is only used if you want to set the output filesize, which is madness, there's no way you can estimate what the final file size needs to be in order for the film to still be watchable.

Well I watched it right now and it looks good.
There's no action scenes since it's a comedy.

There's a bunch of software that claims to to it and only one that works, unfortunately it's payware: ConvertXtoDVD.

I had mild success with DeVeDe (free), I think I ran into problems with subtitles or something. Maybe you'll have more luck.

ConvertXtoDVD has a trial, give it a try and see if you like it. There was one other free one I tried - AVItoDVD, can't remember what I didn't like about it.

I meant that convertxtodvd is the one I'm currently using.

I was just curious about what else is out there.

Thanks, I'm going to try DeVeDe.

Updated guide to add link to the nightly build of Handbrake, as it's significantly better than the last stable build.
