I have a few questions regarding charging. First of all: in lack of an adapter plug, I took an old USB-charging cable which had a fitting plug and used my iPod charger which has about the same specs (5V, 1000mA).

After I plugged in the charger, two LEDs (red and green) it up around the power button.
Is this normal? Or is only one LED supposed to light up? Do the LEDs go out, when charging is done?
Even after 3h they didn't. How long does it take? 3000mA battery should charge in 3h when completly flat.

When I booted the MIDnite with the charger attached, many apps and widgets forceclosed. But this might be a coinsidence. After a reboot and then plugging in the charger, everything was fine.

I know it's still a bug the battery's percentage does not update. I tried BattStat and BatteryLife widgets, but also these don't update. BattStat won't even load properly. BatteryLife does show percentage, but extended properties are faulty.

What puzzles me: yesterday evening the MIDnite shut down due to empty battery, when I powered up with charger, it showed 56% battery level -- but this might be incorrect due to additional voltage being present from the charger.

You might want to check out this thread, someone appears to have a fix that might work: http://www.slatedroid.com/nationite-mid ... pdate.html

The dual color for the button is normal. I am not sure if i read correctly, but if you are charging via USB, then it may not charge properly. The charger included with the MIDnites does have a USA plug, but it does support worldwide voltage, you only need to use a socket adapter to fit your wall socket, you do not need any special power converter. Normally these socket adapters are easily available in most electronic stores for quite cheap.

Yes, I know, but as of yesterday I wasn't able to get to the store, so I took what I found: an USB-cable with a matching charger plug. This I connected to my iPod charger, which delivers 1000mA at 5V.

Charging via PC-USB would of course not work, or if it does, take ages (3000mA from 150mA = 20h).

Thanks for clarifying about the LEDs. Still: are they supposed to go out when charging has finished?

these devices have big batteries so 3 hours ain't enough to clmplete a charge, I would guess seven hours, leave it overnight to charge

Yeah, finished charging after about 4h. The green LED is still lit (charger attached), the red LED is off.

As stated, I charged with a 1A charger, the original one has 1.5A if I remember correctly, so charging should take 3-4h max.
