I didn't even realized Raz allowed people to return no question for 30 days. If that is the case, then he did all he had to do and anyone that didn't return when not satisfied, tough. If your return hasnt been processed, well that is another issue.

I think this whole situation is exactly why this site normally doesnt and will never again sell generic chinese gadgets. Raz's (as well as everyone elses of the people who typically imported the apad in) original supplier for a lot of these devices, Moonse, actually lied about the product and represented they were a manufacturer and not just a middleman. They sold literally the worst of the worst of these apads (the v2's mostly) that often fell apart and had almost no customer service. Around the time people realized moonse was a rebrander, they switched to the v3's, generally with the iRobot logo that were slightly better built but still not the best build quality. I wonder how much to blame was RockChips RK2808 kit and how much was the manufacturers churning out crap.

Its unfortunate though because it means that the cheapest 7" pads will likely be at least 200. The wits a81 is pretty damn good but it has no accelerometer and is a little bulky for my taste and its still 200. I just wonder how the indian pad is under 50 bucks. Its got to be heavily subsidized to even be functional.

I don't post much anymore although I visit frequently. I was considering getting one of these Apads. For Raz to pull the product proves once again he is in it for repeat business. Raz thank you for saving me a headache. Now im trying to talk mommy (my wife) into letting me get a Nationite MIDnite. It really sounds something I just can not live without.

While reviewing the shipping and returns I could not find the 30 day return policy??

Im being nice here,goducks...That statement isnt in the normal return policy,it was adopted for this APAD from the time he started selling it.It never changed. As we keep saying,it's because the man cares about his customers. He knew the higher than normal failure rate on these, and offered some extra guarantee that if the unit died or otherwise failed that the unit can be returned for a brand new one,not a repaired one, for up to 30 days after receiving it.This was and still is unique in this biz.

d2k - I do see what goducks is saying though because in the description of the aPad it said that it was a v3 and that it had the updated ROM.

Sorry but you are quite wrong, i have NEVER EVER said the V3 were shipped with RB fw, below is exactly what was posted on the product pages:

Quote:
As this is the latest version of the apad, the custom firmware is not available, however it should be made avaialble soon. We will have the download link and guide on our forums when available. Once the new custom firmware for the new units are out we will go back to pre loading on each unit the custom firmware made by Slatedroid member rogerbraun.

So i am unsure where anyone would have thought the V3 we were shipping already had the custom fw.

To those that want the custom fw, it will be out, but those expect a light and day difference between the normal apad fw and the custom fw, you will be disappointed. The RB fw does improve the apad, but its because it mashes up the fw of other RK2808 devices. Using the RB fw does make your apad experience better but its not going to make it perform like a totally different device. Again the RB fw will be made for the V3.

To those that think the V3 are inferior, think again, the V3 is actually is better than the V2, those now seeking for a V2 thinking they will get something better, stabler and more reliable, think again, they had just a high of RMA rate and in comparison to to the V3, the touch screen was less sensitive, battery life was less and the screens are really dark. The V3 is also the main version of the apad that is being made, so most apads being sold now are the same as the ones we have been selling.

Let me make it very clear, the reason we stopped sell the apad was because the overall quality, be it V1, V2, V3 in how they were put together is very poor. It does not matter what 'supplier' you think these come from, the issue is that the qc on all of these is just not reliable enough for us to sell this. More than not you will get a working device that won't stop working, but for my quality standards anything that has this high RMA rate is not acceptable, for other sellers the RMA rate for the apad maybe acceptable, but not for me.

These have flooded onto places like ebay where sellers can cut ties with customers after just a few day/weeks. Once feedback has been left, buyers actually have very little recourse for a bad product.

Again, it speaks volumes for the quality of this shop that you ditch poor products.

It really was our fault that he even stocked this "thing" in the first place...we pestered him into getting a low cost MID here, and the APAD was the logical choice based on popularity.Glad he saw the light and discontinued this before it did real damage to his shop :)

D2K. zsubnot stated " didn't even realized Raz allowed people to return no question for 30 days." I was questioning zsubnot's comment. Where did zsubnot get this information??? I was stating the correct information that the 30 day return was only for defective units...not just because the customer was not satisfied.

So I will accept your apology in advance an allow you to be nice to zsubnot for giving out false info.
