Congrats on the new purchase. Looks to be the better player going at the moment. Welcome to the forums.

I just finished another episode of Star Trek Voyager and my V6000HDT sill has 20% batter life (1 hour remaining). I have officially crossed the 10 Hour threshhold with 20% of the juice remaining. I am going to watch another episode tonight and see if that kills it.

The test is now officially over!! At the end of the test I had logged 643 minutes (10 hours 43 minutes) when the HDT dipped below 7% battery life and shut itself off. This much better than expected--blows away my HDW, which I have previously praised for battery life. I am in LOVE!!!! :) The power does drop fast after the player dips below 20%, but as mentioned previously--this is common and expected. The only thing (besides size) that I miss from the HDW is the ability to lock the player. I have accidently tapped the top right corner of the screen sending the player back to the home screen. That's a minor niggle--but worth noting.

Nice!!!!

Thanks for the update. I hope Ainol continues to sell this V6000HDT later this year around Christmas time. I've already spent all my PMP money, so I may be able to guilt trip my way into an early Christmas present.

Troy, you may want to get this while it's hot if you are really dying for a great pmp. I didn't need this either as the HDW was perfect fine--screen blemishes aside. It is a much more enjoyable viewing experience though on HDT.

set2374,
I hear you buddy. I really do.....

But I just spent a lot on the V7000HDK and the V8000HDY so I just can't lay out the cash for another PMP right. I'd really love a 16GB HDT for myself. I use my HDY so much now, I don't want to sell it. It took me monthes of cyber lurking to finally buy my OS-72HR last year. But I keep looking at these new Ainol PMPs like a fat kid in a candy store.

Ainol is really killing my will power to not spend money right now! LOL

Hmmm... 7000HDK... what made you do it? :) I get the temptation with the HDY--bigger 7" inch screen and higher res... could have been a big winner if it didn't have the poor viewing angles. Well.. as long as you're happy with what you have already.. I would sell one of those bad boys and throw in a little extra to get an HDT. But that's just me. :)

I was waiting for the V6000HDT to show up and I saw the 7000HDK on sale for $45. That was so cheap that I decided to snatch one up. It was an impulse buy that paid off for me. I like the little guy and he's my backup PMP.

Every couple of days, I think about selling my V8000HDY to my nephew and buying this V6000HDT. But I don't want to give up what's become my best PDF ebook reader. The screen is so much better on this V6000HDT, but I actually like watching movies on my V8000HDY.

I'm just going to be a good little lad and wait. and pray this hangs around a little bit longer.

But owning three different Ainols at the same time seems just a little embarassing to me.......

7000HDK for $45? Ok.. I get that.... I might have been tempted to go for one of those too. If you're enjoying the HDY, than stick with it. It's not a bad device at all--and there's something to be said for a 7" player. If you're looking for a pdf reader that has a lot of functionality--my guess is you'll be buying a tablet come christmas time and not another PMP. There's going to be an explosion of tablets soon enough. A hi-res capacitative multitouch screen would really come in handy. :D
