argh, you got in ahead of me, cartelps11. Does the hdvp-1 not have an svideo out? would be an cheaper conversion. Shame, because composite will really degrade the signal.

No it doesn't have s-video out and yea this sucks I wish my tv had at least component but it doesn't.


I really need to upgrade my tv. but I bought the v6000hdt instead.

Look, it is a very cheap media player, exactly what you need for that tv. If you had a more expensive tv, you may have bought a hdvp-2 (heh heh).

meant to ask, I am really looking at that v6000 as my next player. I have enough mp3 players, want one that does good video but is portable. Was looking at the v8000 with its bigger screen, but I think 4.8" should be enough to watch comfortably. Make sure you give us the skinny on what you think of it

The one i got today was a second one i ordered for a family member.

Alright, well my tv has a composite port on front and on back and one s-video port on the back.

The hdvp-1 only has component and hdmi.

well, you'll need a composite out and component in converter, is that the one you have now? also check the settings on HDVP-1.
