From the outside of its white box, labeled "Phone no. 4," it's clear to see that the Air Phone 4 is trying awfully hard to be an iPhone 4. But then we already knew that. How does it compare to the real thing in the real world? Not well, according to intrepid reviewer Stuart Ashen. The external metal surface (which you might be familiar with) is here actually plastic, so you don't have to worry about dropped calls if you fondle it the wrong way, but the phone is said to have awful signal regardless -- despite showing full bars even when missing a SIM. Ashen concludes the thing is an "astonishing bit of copycat work" held back by "the worst touchscreen ever." (Yeah, it's resistive.) Oh, and that Facetime app we spotted before? It "doesn't seem to work properly," about the kindest thing that can be said about this junker. If you'd like to see the full (and thoroughly entertaining) review, it's embedded for you right after the break.

Different look, same cect phones, i recommend everyone to avoid these type of phones, they are horribly built and not that functional. Get a low cost android phone instead.

If you see the youtube video.
That is all it says about the phone, that you got to be completely crazy to buy a phone like this one.

That's one thing that kept bugging me about his review.
you get what you paid for, if he started using his fingernail instead of his whole finger the screen what of acted better.
You can tell it acted better when he started using the stylus.

horribly built? a complete mess? Awful signal? the worst touchscreen ever?

I don't have the phone from the review, but i have the Cloud 9, and another one as backup, i love them both, and i come from a phone from over 700 euro!!!! and i did hate that one, the TytnII from HTC, well, for me, that was a complete mess, after a few weeks i gave up and never used the more then 700 euro phone anymore and went back to a usual nokia phone where you could only call with and send an sms.

More then 3 years later, i went for the cloud 9 from chinavasion... you get what you paid for? Well, let's see the difference between a 700 euro phone and a 100 euro phone:

HTC TytnII:
- Horrible battery life
- Because of the keyboard the weight was to much to carry it in the pocket
- it gets warm and the GPS didn't work good
- Wifi signal was weak
- no 3.5 connection for a headphone
- long startup time of 1 minute
- Very slow in working!!!!!

The Cloud 9:

- Good battery life
- Good weight, and it also has a keyboard, even a better one then the 700 euro phone...
- It has no GPS, but i can use google maps on it offline!!! so i don't need a expensive mobile connection
- It doesn't get warm
- Wifi signal is very good!
- A 3.5 connection for a headphone
- Startup time for 10 seconds, the 700 euro phone had a startup time of 45 seconds
- Everything works fast
- Even the touchscreen works better then the 700 euro phone
- It has 2 batteries
- I even find the build quality better then the HTC...

A few negative points maybe:

- Bad screen for using in sunlight
- In every application, you can type for about 400 characters, and not more
- Less applications available then in windows mobile, but everything that i need actualy works.

I don't have the phone that is in the review, but i could see many things where i thought: you are doing it wrong...
