i wanna be able to go on skype, watch youtube

n does anyone know if webcam video calling will support this

I don't know that I'd want to have Flash in order to support such things.

You can get applications specifically for Android to do these sorts of things:
  • There's a YouTube application[/*:m:3f1iexua]
  • Some web browsers (Skyfire) can play videos, which likely covers much of YouTube usage[/*:m:3f1iexua]
  • Sipdroid may be an alternative to Skype, depending on your preferences/requirements[/*:m:3f1iexua]

I'm holding off for a bit; I was musing about getting the $20 off by ordering today, but apparently today ended quite a bit earlier than I expected :-) . At this point, I might as wait until rather closer to the 23rd, as there's no benefit to not waiting a bit... Unless I'm wrong, and waiting to the 22nd means that with the thronging thousands with earlier orders getting their orders filled first, I have to wait six weeks for more ;-) .

But on to questions...

  • Does it use some standard-sized power adapter plug? I'd sure like to be able to pick up an extra adapter, whether here, or at DX, or similar, for office etc.[/*:m:14fiyyvp]
  • Are there any readily available protective cases, so it doesn't get jostled if in transit?[/*:m:14fiyyvp]
  • Is there a git repo to point to to get at the code base that's being worked on? I don't do much Javaing, but could doubtless make some sense of it.[/*:m:14fiyyvp]

Is this going to be the same on all Android devices in the future? What about the aPad, are they still going to come with the official Marketplace loaded?

Can I get an answer on this? Not a deal breaker, but I'd really like marketplace access on my Bmorn BM999!

You can always mod it yourself if mp4nation stops including it.

I don't know about other devices, you will need to ask their respective makers if they will or will not. However i think Rockchip based devices will always have marketplace as they are working with Google to make their chips a low cost platform for phones in China to run Android, so my guess Google is turning a blind eye to these Rockchip based tablets for now.

If you want Marketplace on the MIDnite you can find tutorials on how to do it on places like slatedroid, it isn't hard, but we just will not be preinstalling Marketplace, we will be respecting Googles licensing requirements.
