Well we are out of stock for the HDVP-2 and more are on order with the factory. We should get them by the last week of August, so anyone looking to save some $$$ on these should jump on the pre order sale, do keep in mind they won't ship till late August.

Good news also about the firmware, the new units will come preloaded with the latest firmware which allows for 1080p video streaming over network, as some may know the older firmware only allow for files upto 4GB to play, this has been fixed. Keep in mind network speeds can hinder playback still, for best results use lan cable and not wifi for 1080p network streaming.

There will also be Picasa and Flicker browsing on the new firmware, you will be able to log onto your flicker and picasa accounts to view your uploaded photos.

The new firmware will have those new features, some more under the hood fixes and all the lovely features thats already on the HDVP-2!

Existing HDVP-2 users will be able to download the new firmware later next week

No problem, i hope others like it, $69.50 for a 1080p media player and network streamer is a deal in anyones book

It sure as hell is. I didn't realize some of the features on it. Such as the Picasa thing, etc.

I have no clue on what the television type is called or cable, but can this connect to a non-HD television.(Those red and white audio cables and that one yellow cable).?

Even if the TV only has one (white) audio input? Is there a setting for mono? I sound like I'm being difficult, but that's the way my TV is, and the Wii mods don't obey the system setting for audio.

as long as you have 1 yellow and atleast 1 audio it will work, but no way to turn it to one Chanel, may need to get some form of 2 to 1 adaptor

All right. Might get this at some point, since the Wii players also fail at playback sometimes.
