Hey all, I understand you guys get a lot of questions like this, but I couldn't quite find a thread that fits me, so here goes...: I would really like a player that can do my music, as well as video, preferably xvid so that I don't have to do really intense conversion on an AMD sempron. My budget is looking like a max of $110 US, possibly a bit more. Currently I'm liking the look of the Onda VX530, but I'm open to any other recommendations. Thanks :)

Hi and welcome
well the current offer for the VX530 is tempting and uses a rockchip CPU at its core, these players are generally good all round players, not the best video player in terms of HD etc but if you just have standard def vids then you will be fine

If your xvids are of a lower resoltion than 720p then they should playback fine on the VX530, but if you want something a little more powerful then you might want to splurge a little and get the Ainol V9000HDA, that will play your files and it has a great screen.

on paper it will do, rockchips players are renowned for damn good sound while the sochip based players are reported to be not so clear in the SQ department - the vc530 will sound good, that at least we can say with confidence when using rockchip
